Job DescriptionThe OpportunityManager, Coverage Strategy & Forms, Corporate Underwriting is responsible for providing leadership and oversight for Commercial Insurance coverage design, wording governance, product implementation and underwriting enablement activities across Commercial Insurance portfolios.
The role is responsible for ensuring products, forms, endorsements and coverage offerings remain competitive, clearly articulated, operationally effective and aligned with underwriting strategy, customer needs and business objectives.
Working closely with Corporate Underwriting, Claims, Operations, Technology, Actuarial and Regional Underwriting teams, the Manager leads coverage development initiatives, wording governance practices and implementation activities while supporting integration priorities, future-state transformation and systems modernization efforts.
What to Expect- Lead the development, maintenance and enhancement of Commercial Insurance products,
- forms, endorsements, manuscripts and coverage frameworks.
- Provide leadership and technical expertise related to coverage design, wording interpretation, product governance and product application.
- Identify and implement product and coverage enhancements that improve customer value, underwriting effectiveness and operational efficiency.
- Lead governance and approval processes related to product, wording and coverage changes.
- Support execution of product priorities and transformation initiatives, including systems modernization, integration activities and future-state product capabilities.
- Partner with Operations, Technology, Claims, Actuarial and Underwriting teams to support successful implementation of product and coverage changes.
- Develop training, communications and implementation resources that enable successful adoption of products, coverages and underwriting frameworks.
- Act as a trusted advisor on complex product, wording and coverage questions while supporting consistency across Commercial Insurance portfolios.
- Build strong internal and external relationships, representing Definity on industry initiatives and monitoring emerging market, regulatory and coverage trends.
- Lead, coach and develop team members while fostering a collaborative, inclusive and high-performing culture.
What you Bring- University degree or college diploma in a related field.
- Strong technical expertise in Commercial Insurance products, coverage design, underwriting operations and policy wording development.
- Experience leading complex cross-functional initiatives and change management activities.
- Strong understanding of coverage governance, product implementation and underwriting enablement.
- Excellent communication, presentation, stakeholder management and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated ability to foster a high-performance culture that drives profitable growth through collaboration, accountability, teamwork, and professionalism.
- Strong customer focus with exceptional verbal and written communication skills, supported by advanced computer proficiency and analytical acumen.
- Experience supporting product modernization, systems implementations or transformation initiatives considered an asset.
- Proven ability to build relationships, provide technical guidance, and support underwriting excellence across teams and business units.
Salary Range: $120,100-$170,100
Actual salary for the role may vary depending on work location of the successful candidate and other factors including but not limited to, skills, education, experience, working conditions and the local labour market.
