What is the Opportunity?

RBC offers an exciting role as a Manager, Corporate Communications, RBC Technology. In this role, you will support the development and execution of internal and external communications tactics to support emerging tech at RBC including RBC's AI Group, its Group Head and other senior tech leaders. This includes internal communications for the AI Group and communicating AI news and updates to the RBC employees. You will support the execution of critical communications channels, including an intranet, internal engagement site and a monthly AI newsletter, as well as support with internal events. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to support communications on other emerging technologies as required.

*Please note this is a one year Contract, Fixed Term position.

What will you do?
  • Support with internal and external communications on behalf of the AI Group and senior leaders.
  • Manage and curate content for an enterprise newsletter and other communications channels.
  • Develop strong relationships and closely collaborate with AI Group business partners to ensure communications deliver on their objectives in a strategic, clear and concise manner.
  • Help with external and internal storytelling on a variety of channels.
  • Support with event planning and execution, including town halls, senior leader forums and other gatherings.
  • Ability to facilitate between, provide advice and influence key stakeholders.


What do you need to succeed?

Must have:
  • University degree and/or other post-secondary education (or equivalent experience) in communications, public relations, marketing or journalism.
  • Communications professional with minimum 3+ years of experience preferably in financial services or technology.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and commitment to teamwork and collaboration in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exceptional ability to simplify complicated information into clear and concise content.
  • Communications strategist, sensitive to complexities of communicating ideas and policies in an environment of competing interests.


Nice-to-have:
  • Experience in the tech sector and/or financial services sector.
  • Experience working with a content management system.
  • Familiarity with graphic design and video editing.
  • Familiarity with email distribution software / programs.
