Pitney Bowes is now hiring for a Manager, Control Tower Operations at our Omaha, NE presort facility!

***This position is hybrid, with a strong preference for candidates located in Omaha, NE. However, strong candidates outside of the Omaha, NE area will be considered with ability to travel to Omaha, NE.***

The base salary range is $80,000-95,000 / annually + a 10% field bonus. As part of our commitment to a flexible work schedule, this role does not have a set amount of vacation per year.

You are:

An operations-focused people leader who drives performance, consistency, and strategic execution across the Pitney Bowes Control Tower. You lead a team of Control Tower Specialists and Transportation Coordinators, setting direction for daily operations while building a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and service excellence. You are equally comfortable guiding your team through complex exceptions and competing priorities as you are representing the Control Tower in carrier performance conversations and corporate transportation initiatives. Your ability to develop people, manage carrier relationships, and influence across organizational boundaries makes you a cornerstone of Pitney Bowes' centralized transportation execution capability.

You will:

• Lead & Develop the Control Tower Team: Provide day-to-day leadership, coaching, and performance management for a team of Control Tower Specialists; build individual capability, foster a high-performance culture, and ensure the team has the direction, tools, and support needed to execute at a high level

• Set Operational Direction: Establish and communicate clear priorities, workflows, and performance expectations for the Control Tower; ensure consistent, high-quality execution across dispatch, track and trace, site communications, and exception management

• Own Carrier Performance & Accountability: Serve as the primary point of accountability for carrier and vendor performance within the Control Tower's scope; conduct regular performance reviews, lead corrective action conversations, and drive carrier compliance with contractual service commitments

• Represent the Control Tower in Corporate Initiatives: Partner with the corporate transportation team and site leadership on strategic initiatives including network optimization, TMS enhancements, carrier sourcing, and new client implementations; lead the Control Tower's contribution to these efforts and serve as the connective link between corporate direction and site-level execution

• Drive Service Level Achievement: Monitor and report on key transportation performance metrics including on-time delivery, carrier compliance, and network service levels; provide leadership and cross-functional stakeholders with clear, data-driven performance narratives and recommendations that drive accountability and continuous improvement

• Manage Cross-Functional Relationships: Build and maintain effective relationships with Presort Operating Sites and Corporate Transportation; serve as the primary escalation point from the field into the Control Tower and resolve issues that exceed the team's authority level

• Monitor & Report on Team Performance: Develop and deliver regular performance reporting on team KPIs, carrier compliance, SLA achievement, and exception trends; provide leadership with actionable insights and data-driven recommendations for continuous improvement

• Champion Continuous Improvement: Identify and lead operational improvement initiatives within the Control Tower; formulate process changes, drive adoption across the team, and measure outcomes to ensure sustained efficiency and service gains

• Ensure TMS & Process Compliance: Maintain accountability for the accuracy and integrity of TMS data, operational procedures, and compliance requirements across the team; identify gaps and implement corrective measures where standards are not met

• Support Workforce Planning: Partner with HR and leadership on hiring, onboarding, and workforce planning for the Control Tower team; ensure adequate staffing levels and skill coverage to meet operational needs

As a Manager, Control Tower Operations, you have:

• At least five (5) years of progressive experience in transportation, logistics, or supply chain operations, with a minimum of two (2) years in a people leadership role

• Demonstrated ability to lead and develop teams in a centralized, fast-paced, real-time operations environment

• Proven experience managing carrier relationships and holding external partners accountable to service commitments and performance standards

• Experience partnering with cross-functional or corporate teams on strategic transportation initiatives, with the ability to translate strategy into team-level execution

• Proficiency in Transportation Management Systems (TMS) such as Blue Yonder, Mercury Gate, or comparable platforms

• Strong analytical and reporting skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and PowerPoint; ability to develop performance narratives for leadership audiences

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships, influence without direct authority, and present effectively across all organizational levels

• Experience managing service level agreements and driving measurable performance improvement in a transportation or logistics environment

• Working knowledge of DOT regulations, carrier management practices, and fleet operations

• Familiarity with USPS mail processing, marketing mail logistics, or postal industry operations preferred

• A bachelor's degree in business, logistics, supply chain management, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience will be considered
