Full Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY: The purpose of the CI Manager, responsible for leading Operational Excellence Deployment at their site, is to develop a culture of learning and provide technical support and coaching in OPEX processes to grow the continuous improvement capabilities of the business.

The duties and responsibilities regularly performed (but not limited to) for this position are:

  • Improve safety, quality, delivery, productivity, cost, and efficiency
  • Serve as a facilitator of continuous improvement implementation and employee involvement
  • Develop and drive the CI Roadmap & CI Steering Committee
  • Conduct PQ analysis to drive focus on the right processes / products
  • Within area of responsibility analyze current work practices to identify areas for improvement and educate as to how to improve business and manufacturing processes. Devise and test solutions and roll out new ways of working
  • Drive functional projects, risks, issues, and benefits.
  • Participate in Lean health checks and go/no goes
  • Perform workplace audits and streamlining processes within area of responsibility
  • Process mapping, value stream mapping, identifying inefficiencies in productivity with a particular focus on layouts and sequencing
  • Communicate effectively with various levels within the business to educate in lean methodologies and how recommended changes can cut waste from operating procedures, influencing, and motivating both proactively and reactively
  • Deploy appropriate methodologies to solve problems and support teams to solve problems. Ensure the escalation process for problem solving is effective
  • Foster the growth of performance excellence behaviors within the business through coaching, mentoring, and training teams and championing performance excellence
  • Support the business in establishing "best practice"
  • Ensure that process improvement initiatives are aligned to business requirements
  • Implement standard work, visual factory, and error proofing
  • Support the building of a culture of engagement across the business to provide a highly energized team which is flexible to meet the changing needs of the business
  • Undertaking continuous training and development
  • Perform root cause analysis and resolve problems
  • Monitor the completion of tasks and ensure good performance and record on appropriate systems
  • Conduct risk assessments of processes and tasks
  • Developing CPEX savings plans & reporting out on performance to plan monthly
  • Scheduling and executing on site TPM events
  • Coaching and monitoring Tier 5 and Tier 3 maturity levels
  • Driving site Gemba maturity efforts
  • Utilization tracking and updating of labor standards in CITS
  • Creating and monitoring performance to the site 5S plans
  • Tracking CITS project improvement efforts / supporting Fiix implementation efforts with maintenance team
  • Supporting large-scale improvement events at other sites as required


QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years' experience with continuous improvement in manufacturing / repair environment
  • Six Sigma Green Belt - preferred
  • Good technical skills with the ability to accurately interpret engineering drawing, blueprints, and engineering specifications
  • High attention to detail with excellent organizational skills
  • Problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to improve and develop new business processes
  • Leadership abilities including coaching and influencing
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
  • Ability to work effectively individually or as part of a team


SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Direct manager for current CI intern.

This position may require work hours outside of the regularly scheduled hours to meet operational needs. This may include work during evenings, weekends, and/or holidays. Additional work hours are assigned based on business requirements. Non-exempt employees will be paid overtime in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.

The salary range for this position reflects a broad spectrum of experience levels. Individual compensation within the range is determined by multiple factors, including relevant experience, education, certifications, job related skills, internal equity, and market conditions. We evaluate each candidate individually to ensure fair and competitive pay decisions.
