Full Job Description
Summary:

The Construction Manager is responsible for the day-to-day field execution of energy infrastructure projects including pipelines, pump stations, compression facilities, processing facilities, and related mechanical and civil installations.

This role serves as the on-site construction leader, ensuring work is executed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with engineering drawings, specifications, regulatory requirements, and company quality standards.

The Construction Manager coordinates contractors, inspectors, engineering teams, and operations to deliver projects on schedule and within budget while maintaining the highest standards of safety and workmanship.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Oversee on-site construction activities from mobilization through mechanical/electrical completion with the inspection team.
  • Responsible for supporting preconstruction activities such as constructability and route development, support bid process, contract development and contractor selection with the Project Manager.
  • Responsible for planning and coordinating construction activities in correlation with inspection planning per the ET QAM.
    • Construction Manager will identify and manage qualified inspectors for the scope,
    • Manage the Inspection Contracting/Staffing Plan to scale inspection up and down as needed
  • Ensure execution aligns with IFC drawings, project specifications, and scope requirements.
  • Maintain daily presence in the field to monitor quality, productivity, and safety.
  • Provide daily and weekly reporting to the project team.
  • Ensure proper sequencing of work activities line up with the schedule and effectively coordinate between disciplines for both safety and quality.
  • Responsible for the oversite of welding, coating and destructive/nondestructive testing and that all documentation is being reviewed and turned in to Project Pulse in a timely manner.
  • Verify the Inspectors have all tools required for the job and audit jobs weekly for quality per company standards and specifications.
  • Monitor contractor productivity and inspection staffing levels.
  • Identify potential schedule impacts and escalate risks.
  • Support change order documentation and scope clarification and communication between the PM, Contractors and Inspection teams.
  • Track field progress against project schedule milestones.
  • Detailed knowledge of company policies and procedures, industry practices, construction standards, welding procedures, and OSHA rules and regulations

Requirements:
Education and/or Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job duty satisfactorily. The requirements for this position are listed below:
  • 8+ years of progressive construction experience in energy or heavy industrial environments and a Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
  • Demonstrated experience in pipeline and/or facility construction.
  • Working knowledge of API, ASME, AWS, and NACE standards.
  • Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, isometrics, and construction drawings.
  • Strong leadership presence in field environments.
  • Willingness to travel and work extended hours as project demands require.
  • Preferred Qualifications
  • CWI (Certified Welding Inspector)
  • NACE Coating Inspector certification (Level II or III)
  • OSHA 30-hour certification
  • Experience managing union and non-union craft labor
  • Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
  • Valid AWS CWI
  • Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) not required but preferred.

  • Usually, field and field office working conditions.
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time due to prolonged periods of sitting or standing.
  • Occasional visits to industrial/manufacturing settings, which may include exposure to various materials and chemicals, as well as extreme temperature conditions and loud machinery, and require appropriate personal protective equipment.
