Summary :
The Manager, Clinical Resource Team is responsible for overall leadership, strategic direction, and operational management of the clinical workforce needs of the clinical resource team and supporting departments/clinics. Manages operations and is responsible for staffing and performance management, workforce development, clinical support, and patient care delivery. Is accountable for 24/7, day-to-day operations and oversight of the department through implementation of strategy, policy, direction, and action planning. Analyzes, develops, and implements methods and systems to improve overall efficiency and effectiveness of services. Creates an environment that promotes the provision of patient-centered, specialized, and evidence-based nursing care across the continuum through an inter-professional approach to treatment, research, education, and advocacy. Is accountable for the delivery of compassionate and safe care within the scope of practice as defined by the Wisconsin Board of Nursing and ThedaCare policy. Is responsible for patient outcomes that meet high quality of care standards through collaborative practice with members of the care team. Contributes to the professional practice model of nursing at ThedaCare that involves the promotion of a culture of innovation and a commitment to growth and professional development.

Job Description:

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
  • Effectively manages team members in a manner consistent with ThedaCare policies and values. Ensures the recruitment and retention of competent team members to meet the needs of the business operations of the department.
  • Is accountable for daily activities and work processes that result in quality outcomes.
  • Oversees and ensures accuracy of time and attendance and payroll practices.
  • Upholds and models mission, vision, and values, and assists team members in understanding how their day-to-day jobs contribute to ThedaCare strategy.
  • Participates and develops quality improvement processes to include goals and performance measurements and leading teams to excellence.
  • Develops collaborative relationships with members of the care team and departments to solve problems and ensure that team members are prepared to step in and provide excellent patient care regardless of the assignment.
  • Is responsible for effective communication and appropriate escalation of clinical and operational issues to the director of nursing.
  • Supports shared decision making and shared governance. Coordinates the professional nurse and other team members' participation in decisions regarding patient care delivery, work/practice environment, and operational activities that affect daily work flow.
  • Ensures team members are properly trained and informed of procedures, policies, and processes that result in high reliability, safety, and quality outcomes.
  • Supports research and innovation to promote advancement of the nursing profession and the health care environment. Utilizes research findings and evidence-based practice to establish standards, practices, and patient care models that are outcome-driven and patient-centered.
  • Provides mentoring and opportunities for growth for team members to meet their professional goals.
  • Works with the director to develop action plans related to budget and budget variances. Contributes to the preparation and implementation of the annual budget and collaborates when making decisions that have long-term impact on cost-effective care.
  • Is responsible for the coordination of activities and ensures continual compliance with regulatory standards (i.e., The Joint Commission, CMS, and AHCA).
  • Provides operational leadership, workforce planning, and strategic direction in partnership with nursing operations to ensure we have appropriate skill mix, staffing levels, and competency to patient throughput initiatives, service line growth, and emergent workforce needs.
  • Designs, implements, and evaluates staffing decisions based on established models, skill mix, ratios, and clinical outcomes to serve population needs, volume, and acuity of patients.


QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor of science degree in nursing
  • Five years of progressive responsibility in a healthcare setting
  • Three years of leadership experience to include leading teams and/or projects
  • Current Wisconsin RN Licensure • American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS)


PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
  • Ability to move freely (standing, stooping, walking, bending, pushing, and pulling) and lift up to a maximum of Fifty (50) pounds without assistance.
  • Job classification is exposed to blood borne pathogens (blood or bodily fluids) while performing job duties.


WORK ENVIRONMENT:
  • Ability to move throughout hospital departments and floors on a daily basis
  • Frequent exposure to sharp objects and instruments
  • Occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and risk of electrical shock
  • Occasional high noise level in work environment
  • Possible exposure to communicable diseases, hazardous materials, and pharmacological agents
  • Standing and/or walking for extended periods of time
  • Transporting, transferring, positioning patients and/or equipment from one location to another; little likelihood for injury if proper body mechanics and procedures are followed
  • Occasional contact with aggressive and combative patients
  • Frequent sitting with movement throughout office space
  • Use of computers throughout the work day
