Job DescriptionThe Manager of Clinical Logistics Vendors works closely with Sourcing & Procurement, SQM, GTC, and GSC in support of vendor selection, issue resolution, and ongoing performance management through business reviews. The role manages and reconciles purchase orders in alignment with forecasts and negotiated rates. They provide oversight of outsourced drug supply activities, ensuring control of procurement, inventory, and distribution. They also regularly report out to stakeholders to ensure visibility to vendor performance, costs, and drug supply.
Responsibilities: Vendor Engagement• Engages clinical logistics vendors for services such as 3rd party logistics (3PL), cryopreservation, cold chain shipper supply, and drug sourcing
• Works with Sourcing & Procurement and SQM to address vendor performance
• Regularly participates in vendor quarterly business reviews to address business needs and performance
• Participates in vendor strategic business reviews to address business needs and performance as needed
• Works with Sourcing & Procurement, and GSC on vendor MSAs and COPs
Tracks adherence to MSAs and COPs
o Addresses deviations from vendor agreements alongside Sourcing & Procurement
• Participates in SQM triage of potential supplier corrective action request (SCAR) when issues occur
o Ensures appropriate follow-up, issue resolution, investigation, RCA, and corrective actions are carried out in concert with SQM
• Participates in RFI/RFP vendor identification, selection, and onboarding in concert with Sourcing & Procurement, SQM, GSC, clinical logistics management, and other cross-functional stakeholders
• Facilitates 3PL lane assessment requests in concert with the clinical logistics cell journey manager
Purchase Order (PO) Management• Works with R&D Finance to create and maintain POs for vendor expenses
• Works with GSC as needed to create GMP Pos for supplies received by GMP facilities
• Works with Clinical Logistics Demand Planning to obtain clinical trial forecast and apportion PO funds accordingly
• Reconciles PO costs against Sourcing & Procurement negotiated supply and services rate cards
• Ensures issuance of credits when cost reconciliation does not match agreed upon rates
Drug Management• Provides oversight of vendors executing drug procurement services, including comparator drug procurement, storage, labeling, labeling translation, kitting, staging and shipment of materials
• Monitors drug supply with each vendor
• Works with the clinical logistics cell journey manager to monitor and manage real-time clinical trial comparator drug use
Admin and Reporting• Owns and maintains SOPs for vendor management
• Owns internal training material for vendor management
• Tracks and provides visibility of vendor costs and drug supply to clinical logistics management and department stakeholders via report and dashboard creation and maintenance
• Travel required for QBRs, SBRs, and vendor stakeholder engagement
Basic qualifications:Bachelor's Degree and Six Years' Experience
OR
Masters' Degree and Four Years' Experience
Preferred Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, Supply Chain, Business, or related field preferred
- Experience in clinical logistics, clinical operations, or clinical supply chain within the biopharmaceutical industry.
- Experience managing and engaging 3PLs and suppliers in RFI/RFPs, QBRs, SBRs, SCAR management, MSA, COP, and WO execution
- Strong understanding of end-to-end clinical trial operations, including patient-specific logistics, global trial execution, and their impact on systems and operations.
- Experience with ERP systems (EBS, SAP, etc.)
- Experience with clinical trial tools and systems (CTMS, EDC, eTMF, IRT, IXRS, etc.)
- Experience with DCS and QMS systems (Veeva, Agile, etc.)
- Knowledge of GCP, GMP, GxP, ICH principles and regulatory requirements.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to influence and collaborate across multiple functions and vendors.
- Ability to manage complexity and multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, SharePoint, Smartsheet, Salesforce, ThoughtSpot, Spotfire, and other business systems

The salary range for this position is: $123,930.00 - $160,380.00. Kite considers a variety of factors when determining base compensation, including experience, qualifications, and geographic location. These considerations mean actual compensation will vary. This position may also be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, discretionary stock-based long-term incentives (eligibility may vary based on role), paid time off, and a benefits package.
