Full Job Description
As a Manager you will lead the Clinical Associate team to deliver and oversee study execution at the Fort Dodge, IA site. In this role you'll be responsible for guiding clinical trial execution logistics, supporting GLP compliance and audit readiness, and partnering cross-functionally across Global R&D to advance Elanco's innovative animal health pipeline. Your Responsibilities: • Guide Clinical Execution Operations: Oversee the Clinical Execution team at the Fort Dodge site, managing trial logistics, master study scheduling, technical resource allocation, and daily execution of clinical study events. • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with Global R&D Clinical teams, RDQA, and M&Q to integrate project support needs, align organizational priorities, and report key resource utilization and output metrics. • Quality & Regulatory Compliance: Support the implementation and continuous adherence to GLP programs in accordance with FDA guidelines, serving as a liaison during internal quality audits and external health authority inspections. • Vendor & Supply Management: Build, manage, and oversee vendor relationships and supplier contracts for specialized animals and research materials, ensuring strict compliance with HSE, QA, Animal Welfare, and AAALAC standards. • Team Development & Onboarding: Serve as the primary trainer to efficiently onboard new colleagues, foster ongoing technical skill building, and ensure full compliance with Elanco standard operating procedures. What You Need to Succeed (minimum qualifications): • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Biology, Animal Science, or related scientific discipline (or Master's Degree in relevant field) • Required Experience: A minimum of 6 years of experience in clinical study execution, laboratory operations, or R&D project management (or 4+ years with a Master's Degree) • Top 2 skills: Strong working knowledge of GLP regulations/FDA compliance and hands-on animal handling expertise in a clinical or research environment What will give you a competitive edge (preferred qualifications): • Demonstrated leadership or supervisory experience managing clinical operations, trial scheduling, or laboratory personnel • Proven experience managing external vendor relationships and animal supplier contracts • Exceptional cross-functional communication, data analysis, and conflict resolution capabilities • Proficiency with PC package tools, including advanced spreadsheets (Microsoft Excel) and word processing (Word) Additional Information: • Travel: 10% • Location: Fort Dodge, IA: On-Site Work Environment - Relocation packages available!
