Full Job Description
The Manager, Client Advisory Services acts as the primary client contact, building relationships, facilitating meetings, and providing guidance and feedback to junior team members while ensuring high-quality service and support for clients. This role applies accounting theories and principles to resolve complex business challenges and optimize financial processes, ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance.

Job Duties
  • Apply accounting theories, principles, and systems design to address complex business challenges and optimize financial processes
  • Review accounts and research discrepancies
  • Provide oversight of the accounts receivable and accounts payable process
  • Ensures timely invoicing, collection, accurate and efficient bill payment processing, and reconciliation activity
  • Develop work plans, project timelines, and key milestones
  • Review journal entries, ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Review account balances and financial statements
  • Research issues identified by staff and works toward resolution
  • Ensure proper workpaper documentation for all accounts
  • Managing regulatory requirements and internal reporting deadlines
  • Participate in quality assurance initiatives
  • Review of work done by themself and others before submission, including balance sheet reconciliations, P&L classification and state and local tax filings for accuracy and compliance
  • Communicating frequently and effectively with client contacts
  • Provide general accounting feedback and recommendations to clients
  • Ensure delivery goals are met by the team through process management and inter-departmental communication
  • Identify client issues and deficiencies and assist with recommending solutions
  • Act as the primary client contact
  • Build client relationships and involve other team members to leverage diverse perspectives and deliver comprehensive solutions
  • Actively listen to clients, provide timely responses and address client needs effectively
  • Facilitate client meetings and involve junior team members in these
  • Manage client workload and projects from initiation to completion, developing workplans, project timelines, and key milestones
  • Manage multiple projects effectively, coordinating resources, monitoring progress, and ensuring deadlines are met, and clients receive the highest level of service and support
  • Prepare, communicate and monitor budgets on client engagements
  • Act as a coach to junior team members
  • Share knowledge, insights, and best practices with others through training, coaching, or mentoring
  • Provide timely feedback to team members
  • Highlight performance strengths and weaknesses for team members, focusing on behaviors and outcomes
  • Facilitate frequent meetings with direct reports and assists with setting their performance goals
  • Supervise a team for day-to-day management of scheduling, training and procedure
  • Provide guidance and direction to team members to develop skills and overcome challenges
  • Delegate work effectively to staff based on their qualifications, capabilities, and interests
  • Manage staff workload ensuring optimal utilization of resources and maintaining a healthy balance for team members
  • Act as a technical resource to support project teams, troubleshoot issues, and provide guidance
  • Recognize issues and develop resolutions and consults with leadership if necessary
  • Communicate potential additional service offerings to clients
  • Nurture established networks in establishing full-cycle business development
  • Participate in the development and implementation of solutions to clients
  • Complete and document research calls in a timely fashion
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements
  • Knowledge of the market and industry trends
  • Prior business experience and ability to apply that experience to a wide range of client situations
  • Technology skills in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, QuickBooks, QuickBooks Online, and other software
  • Familiarity using a CRM
  • Ability to motivate and lead staff Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines and manage unexpected and sometimes urgent firm or client matters as they arise
  • Project management and time management skills

Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting
  • Master's degree preferred

Experience:
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience or relevant experience
  • Team and project management experience required

Licenses/Certifications:
  • QuickBooks Online Pro Advisor Certification
  • CPA License
