Position Summary

The Manager, Central Operations is the operations project manager at the center of that work. This person owns, designs, executes, and reports on the initiatives that mature and scale the Bishop Operating System - partnering with leaders across Rental, Retail, Service, and Wholesale to deliver measurable operational improvement. It is a hands-on, cross-functional role for someone who can run a project end-to-end, influence without authority, and move comfortably between the corporate office and the warehouse floor.

Key Responsibilities
  • Own Initiatives End-to-End - Act as project manager to own, design, execute, and report on initiatives that mature and scale the Bishop Operating System.
  • Work Across All Business Lines - Partner across Rental, Retail, Service, and Wholesale to develop solutions that improve operations company-wide.
  • Identify & Eliminate Inefficiencies - Work to identify inefficiencies within the Bishop network and recommend actions to improve them.
  • Drive Operational Excellence - Drive operational excellence in an industrial distribution environment - including receiving, stocking, and pick, pack, and ship practices.
  • Drive Standards, Process & Technology - Advance the standards, common processes, and technology enablement that turn a growing branch network into a single, world-class operation.
  • Influence Cross-Functionally - Work with cross-functional departments and leaders to impact and influence the direction of the company and improve its offerings.
  • Add Efficiency with AI - Leverage AI toolset(s) to automate processes and add efficiency to how the operation runs.

Required Qualifications
  • 5-8 years of experience in project management, operations, or continuous improvement.
  • Strong project management skills - able to scope, plan, execute, and report on initiatives independently.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence across functions and levels.
  • Demonstrated ability to multitask in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Fluency with AI tools and a track record of using them to automate and add efficiency to processes.
  • Comfortable working in a warehouse environment.
  • Able to travel 25-75% of the time.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree - preferred, not required. Equivalent experience is valued over a credential.
  • PMP and/or Lean Six Sigma certification - preferred, not required.
  • Experience in an industrial distribution company.
  • Based in (or open to) the DFW or Houston area - preferred, not required.
  • Experience deploying standards, processes, or technology across multi-site or field operations.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft 365 and Smartsheet.

What Success Looks Like
  • Initiatives ship on time and deliver measurable operational improvement.
  • Standards and common processes are adopted consistently across all four business lines.
  • Leaders trust this role to drive cross-functional change and report on it clearly.
  • The Bishop Operating System matures and scales in step with the network's growth.
