Full Job Description

Job Responsibilities 

  • Manage and develop direct reports, providing coaching, mentoring, and performance feedback to ensure professional growth and development.

  • Implement short-term strategies to achieve departmental goals and objectives.

  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.

  • Review Corporate, Partnership, Trust, and Individual tax returns for entertainment industry professionals, athletes, high net worth, and family office clients, and all their related entities.

  • Conduct online tax research and provide solutions to complex tax issues.

  • Oversee accounting work necessary for tax returns.

  • Develop and nurture long-term relationships with clients, serving as their trusted advisor.

  • Champion the implementation of innovative solutions to meet client needs.

  • Review and confirm assignment objectives, scope, and work plan with clients.

  • Identify assignment resource requirements and ensure the appropriate resources are assigned to specific roles.

  • Anticipate, identify, and resolve complex assignment issues.

  • Seek regular client assessment of assignment progress and overall feedback on performance.

  • Manage groups to ensure profitability in the short and long term.

  • Support the partner team in identifying and promoting the development of new delivery capabilities and/or channels to satisfy evolving market requirements.

  • Assist in the development and planning of practice unit strategy, objectives, and budgets.

  • Identify and develop new initiatives to increase retention, meet resourcing needs, utilization, and people development.

  • Share and transfer knowledge and skills to the team.

  • Engage in ongoing personal development in line with the competency model.

  • Work and support tax teams in the Dallas, Irvine, Los Angeles, and New York City areas.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Tax, Finance, or a related discipline.

  • Active CPA or EA license required.

  • Minimum of 5 years of U.S. tax consulting/compliance experience in public accounting.

  • Minimum of 1 years of experience in a supervisory or leadership role.

  • Experience with a wide variety of entity types.

  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.

  • Strong project management and leadership skills, including the ability to successfully coach and mentor talented people.

  • Technical proficiency in tax software applications.

  • Strong research, writing, and analytical skills.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Experience in the delivery of quality client service.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Masters in Taxation

  • Experience with Entertainment industry clients

Certain states require us to disclose the pay range and benefits summary for job openings. For Colorado residents, the compensation range for this position: $109,100 - $148,500. For Washington residents, Illinois residents, New York residents, and Southern California residents, the compensation range for this position: $114,000 - $163,400. For Northern California residents, the compensation range for this position: $125,400 - $170,800. Compensation may vary based on skills, role, and location. Eligible employees at certain levels can participate in a discretionary long-term financial incentive plan, subject to plan participation rules.
