Title: Manager, Business Development
Location: Ontario / GTA, Hybrid

Position Summary

We're looking for an experienced, customer service focused Manager, Business Development to support growth across Ontario. Reporting to the VP EPR Solutions, this role will be responsible for identifying and structuring profitable business opportunities, supporting and strengthening customer service excellence, increasing inbound volume and helping build an accessible network aligned with Ontario's EPR regulations.

The successful candidate will bring strong sales experience, industry knowledge, and the ability to work collaboratively with internal teams to ensure customer requirements are clearly understood and consistently delivered. This role requires someone who can balance business growth, customer expectations, operational needs, and margin targets while representing the Quantum brand in a professional and solutions-oriented manner.

Key Responsibilities

Business Development
  • Develop new business opportunities generated through company lead generation activities.
  • Identify and pursue net-new business opportunities through RFPs, tradeshow networking, cold calling, and social media outreach.
  • Grow the Quantum brand and customer base through engagement in the provincial waste management sector, including participation with industry associations such as MWA, W2RO, and others.
  • Structure deals that meet customer needs while ensuring target margins are achieved.
  • Use CRM and customer tools to track customer interactions and plan customer engagement activities.

Customer Service
  • Maintain and strengthen the existing customer base by ensuring service is delivered in a manner that meets and exceeds expectations.
  • Support the onboarding of new accounts to ensure the appropriate service delivery method is implemented in a timely and consistent manner.
  • Communicate client requirements clearly to account management and operational teams.
  • Approve customer settlements as required.


Internal Collaboration & Leadership
  • Work closely with Operations and Customer Service teams to support smooth customer onboarding and consistent service delivery.
  • Communicate expectations clearly and measure performance against established goals.
  • Present to internal and external groups when required to support the Quantum culture, brand, and customer experience.
  • Partner with Operations, Logistics, and Customer Success to ensure service requirements are understood and delivered effectively.

Qualifications
  • Post-secondary degree, with a major in Business is preferred.
  • 5+ years of sales experience, with industry experience required.
  • 10+ years of sales experience is preferred.
  • Experience in the waste management sector, electronics recycling, scrap metal, IC&I, municipalities, or stewardship programs is considered an asset.
  • Broad knowledge of business segments within the waste management sector, specifically electronics recycling and/or scrap metal, including IC&I, municipalities, and stewardship programs.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Proficiency using business tools such as CRM systems, Microsoft Office, and AI tools.
