Job DescriptionPosition Summary:
Hunt Energy Network is developing large-scale islanded (behind-the-meter) power campuses serving hyperscale AI data center loads, anchored by a multi-hundred-MW natural gas engine and BESS program currently in active development. This hybrid role pairs commercial origination with hands-on project execution: the Manager will advance offtake and partnership opportunities for the islanded power platform while managing day-to-day development execution - vendors, permits, schedule, and budget - under the Vice President of EPC. The role also supports evaluation and execution of broader business development and M&A opportunities across the Hunt energy platform.
Responsibilities:
Business Development Responsibilities- Originate, qualify, and advance offtake counterparties (hyperscalers, data center developers, large industrial loads) for the islanded power package; manage teaser/CIM processes, NDAs, data rooms, and diligence responses.
- Structure and negotiate commercial frameworks - PPAs and power-as-a-service offerings, build-own-transfer, JV, and asset sale structures - in coordination with legal, finance, and executive leadership.
- Build and maintain the opportunity pipeline: market screening, site and counterparty analysis, competitive intelligence on the ERCOT BTM power landscape (including SB 6 dynamics).
- Support underwriting, diligence, and execution of M&A and investment opportunities across power generation, infrastructure, and adjacent platforms.
- Prepare board- and counterparty-quality materials: financial summaries, capacity/energization plans, marketing collateral, and transaction documentation.
Project Management Responsibilities- Manage multi-vendor development execution across OEM (engine/generator supply), BOP packagers, EPC contractors, owner's engineers, and environmental consultants - scope alignment, interfaces, deliverables, and schedule.
- Drive the integrated project schedule: equipment delivery sequencing, energization ramp, and permitting critical path (TCEQ air authorizations, Title V, county/construction permits).
- Administer purchase orders, contracts, and milestone payment structures; track budget vs. committed CapEx and manage change control.
- Coordinate technical workstreams - emissions modeling and permitting strategy, fuel supply agreements, interconnection-independent (islanded) electrical design, BESS integration - with internal and external engineering teams.
- Report program status, risks, and decisions to the VP of EPC and executive leadership; own action tracking and vendor accountability.
Required Skills:
- Working fluency in project finance concepts (pro formas, capital structures, credit support) and technical fundamentals of gas generation, BESS, and electrical infrastructure.
- Strong project management fundamentals: schedule/budget ownership, contract administration, multi-vendor coordination; PMP or equivalent experience welcome.
- Willingness to travel to project sites and counterparty locations (~25-40%).
Required Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, finance, or related field; MBA or MS a plus.
- 7-12 years in energy/infrastructure development, EPC, investment banking, or private equity with direct exposure to power generation projects; BTM/distributed generation, data center, or midstream experience strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated commercial track record: offtake agreements, development partnerships, or closed M&A transactions.
