Manager, Proposal Writer

Sales Enablement | Chicago, IL | Hybrid - 3 days/week in office

Overview

The Manager, Proposal Writer is an individual-contributor role responsible for writing and producing high-quality, differentiated proposals, RFP responses, and pitch presentations for the Central Region's business pursuits. This role partners closely with brokers and business line leaders to translate market and client intelligence into compelling, client-ready materials, with a focus on differentiation and storytelling at the point of sale rather than lead generation.

Responsibilities

  • Writes and produces customized, high-quality proposals, RFP responses, and client/prospect presentations for new business pursuits and renewals
  • Develops pitch decks and presentation materials that support differentiation and storytelling at the point of sale
  • Partners with brokers and business line leads to gather content, shape win themes, and identify unique selling propositions for each pursuit
  • Manages multiple concurrent proposals and pitches from kickoff through final delivery, coordinating timelines with brokers and internal stakeholders
  • Conducts research on prospects, markets, and competitors to inform proposal content and positioning
  • Ensures all materials are accurate, on-brand, and meet quality standards prior to client delivery
  • Coordinates with design, production, and research resources as needed to complete deliverables
  • Serves as a proposal writing resource across tenant rep, industrial, agency, and retail business lines
  • Maintains and updates proposal templates, boilerplate content, and the team's content library
  • Supports post-pursuit debriefs by documenting feedback and identifying improvements to proposal content and process


Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Journalism, English, Communications, Marketing, or related field
  • Minimum 5 years of related experience; commercial real estate or adjacent industry experience preferred


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills, with the ability to adapt tone and content for different audiences
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines simultaneously
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel); familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator) a plus
  • Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills; comfortable working directly with brokers and senior stakeholders
  • Deep understanding of and commitment to client service
  • Outstanding organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Strategic thinking with a business development mindset
  • Technologically savvy with the ability to learn and adopt new tools

Estimated compensation for this position:

95,000.00 - 110,000.00 USD per year

This range is an estimate and actual compensation may differ. Final compensation packages are determined by various considerations including but not limited to candidate qualifications, location, market conditions, and internal considerations.
