Manager, Healthcare Data AnalyticsPosition OverviewLocation: Denver
Salary: $130K-175K

We are seeking an experienced Manager of Healthcare Data Analytics to lead an operational analytics function within a managed care environment. This role is responsible for turning complex clinical, operational, and financial data into actionable insights that support improved outcomes, cost management, regulatory requirements, and organizational decision-making.

The Manager will lead and develop a team of data analysts while establishing consistent processes for analytics intake, prioritization, development, and delivery. This individual will partner closely with clinical, operational, finance, quality, and technology teams to ensure analytics initiatives are aligned with business priorities and provide meaningful information to organizational leadership.

This position requires a combination of people leadership, healthcare and managed care knowledge, technical analytics expertise, and strong business acumen.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of healthcare data analysts while overseeing workload, priorities, project pipelines, and quality of deliverables.
  • Establish consistent analytics processes covering request intake, requirements gathering, goal definition, prioritization, development, status tracking, validation, and final delivery.
  • Develop and execute an analytics roadmap aligned with organizational priorities, including quality improvement, patient safety, population health, operational performance, and efficiency.
  • Balance longer-term analytics strategy with current reporting, analysis, and business intelligence needs.
  • Partner with data and technology teams to identify, evaluate, and expand data sources required to support future analytics initiatives.
  • Develop and oversee dashboards, reports, and analytics supporting clinical quality measures, operational KPIs, financial performance, and executive decision-making.
  • Work directly with business stakeholders to understand business challenges, clarify analytics requirements, and recommend effective approaches for addressing their needs.
  • Translate business questions into appropriate methods for querying, organizing, analyzing, and presenting data.
  • Collaborate across clinical leadership, quality, finance, IT, operations, and other business functions to deliver actionable insights.
  • Support healthcare regulatory and reporting requirements, including HIPAA, CMS, HEDIS, UDS, and related healthcare frameworks.
  • Monitor data quality, accuracy, completeness, and integrity and lead efforts to identify and resolve data-related issues.
  • Establish and maintain data governance practices, including consistent data definitions, documentation, standards, and appropriate organizational usage.
  • Identify opportunities to automate, standardize, and scale analytics and reporting processes.
  • Support best practices related to healthcare quality measurement and population health analytics.
  • Present analytical findings, recommendations, trends, and performance results to business and executive stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Healthcare, Analytics, Information Systems, Business, or a related field.
  • 7-9 years of professional data analysis experience.
  • 1-3 years of leadership, management, or supervisory experience.
  • Experience leading cross-functional analytics initiatives, including project prioritization, coordination, development, and status reporting.
  • Professional experience within managed care operations and healthcare analytics.
  • Strong understanding of business processes and the ability to translate operational challenges into analytics solutions.
  • Strong data analysis and problem-solving capabilities, including the ability to work across multiple data sources.
  • Hands-on experience querying data using Microsoft SQL Server / SQL.
  • Ability to create statistical, financial, and operational analyses, models, and reports.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to clearly document analytical methodologies and findings.
  • Ability to communicate and present analytical results and recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, Outlook, Access, and Visio.
  • Demonstrated ability to use data visualization to communicate insights clearly and efficiently.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Extensive experience with modern Business Intelligence and visualization platforms such as Tableau and/or Power BI.
  • Experience developing analytics supporting HEDIS, CMS reporting, healthcare quality measures, population health, or other regulated healthcare programs.
  • Experience establishing or improving data governance practices.
  • Experience improving the scalability and automation of analytics and reporting functions.
  • Demonstrated success building analytics capabilities that improve reporting, operational performance, and healthcare outcomes.
Ideal Background
The strongest candidates will combine healthcare and managed care domain expertise with analytics leadership experience. They should be comfortable leading analysts while remaining close enough to the data to understand SQL, data sources, reporting methodologies, visualization, and data-quality challenges.

This person should also be capable of partnering with senior business and clinical stakeholders, translating ambiguous business problems into structured analytics initiatives, and helping an organization mature its overall analytics function.
