Production Manager to join our team at
Van Nuys, CA bakery. As a
Production Manager, you will be accountable for leading bakery production operations, driving operational excellence, and ensuring production goals, food safety standards, and quality expectations are consistently achieved. This role plays a critical part in optimizing manufacturing performance, developing production leadership teams, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
CompensationSalary Range: $95,000 - $130,000
Core Accountabilities (What You'll be Doing)- Lead bakery production operations to achieve daily production, quality, and food safety objectives.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, productivity, and waste reduction.
- Manage inventory control processes and optimize raw material utilization.
- Oversee production planning and execution to support operational and business goals.
- Ensure compliance with GFSI, BRC, SQF, and customer quality requirements.
- Develop, coach, and mentor production supervisors to build a high-performing team.
- Analyze operational performance and provide recommendations that support business growth and operational excellence.
Minimum Qualifications (What You Bring to the Table)- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- 10+ years of experience in the food manufacturing industry.
- 5-7 years of experience in bakery production management.
- Experience leading teams within a high-volume food manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and quality systems, including GFSI, BRC, or SQF standards.
- Proficiency with SAP and Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Ability to travel up to 10% as business needs require.
Preferred Qualifications (Extra Ingredients for Success)- Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, Business, or a related field.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish.
- Experience leading continuous improvement or lean manufacturing initiatives.
- Experience supporting new product development and commercial production launches.
- Advanced analytical and operational reporting skills.
