Full Job Description

WHO YOU ARE:
The ideal candidate shares our department's mission to ensure that the grant opportunities and grant awards are done ethically, transparently, impartially, and professionally. As a Grant Administration Manager, you will ensure staff process applications and develop grant awards. This role requires the candidate to be detail-oriented, able to communicate effectively, and work closely with cross-functional teams.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:
The Manager IV performs advanced (senior-level) managerial work administering the daily operations and activities of an agency's business function, division, or department. Works under limited supervision, with considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.

YOU WILL BE TRUSTED TO:
-Manage day-to-day activities of staff in Grant Administration (GA).
-Oversee quality assurance of applications and grant award documents. Supervise GA teams and coordinate the yearly performance reviews for the GA teams.
-Work with GA Director to develop, and approve schedules, priorities, and standards for achieving goals in GA.
-Review agency contracting system reports, GA self-audits, and ensures issues are addressed related to activities in GA; monitor management and productivity reports for the RFA team; review documents and reports developed by GA staff to ensure professional quality and appearance, appropriate content, consistency, and responsiveness.
-Provide technical expertise and guidance regarding questions related to applications and grant awards.
-Represent Grant Administration at business meetings, as directed or required by job functions.
-May oversee program analyses, research studies, and internal audits.
-Perform other duties as needed.

YOU ARE A GREAT FIT WITH:
-Current certification as a Certified Texas Contract Developer and as a Certified Texas Contract Manager.
-Work experience in Texas state government related to the development of competitive applications and resulting grant awards.
-Experience managing a team at a state or federal agency.
-Experience in facilitation and customer service.

-Knowledge of project management.
-Strong organization skills with attention to detail.
-Establish and maintain cooperative and constructive work relationships.
-Strong Microsoft Word and Excel skills.
-Knowledge of Microsoft Project, SharePoint, Outlook, and Teams.

YOU QUALIFY WITH:
- Five years of full-time experience in the development, implementation, or interpretation of policies and procedures in a public or private agency, one year and six months of which must have been in an administrative management or supervisory capacity.
-Relevant academic credits may be applied toward experience qualifications for this position.
