Full Job Description
Altman Solon Manager

The Manager role is a senior-level role and is open to professionals with an M.B.A. or equivalent work experience and some managerial experience. As a Manager at Altman Solon, you will play a critical role in leading teams through project analyses, formulating and delivering recommendations, and building relationships clients. Responsibilities include:
  • Planning and overseeing day-to-day activities of all project workstreams, managing teams of analysts and consultants across a variety of activities, including:
    • Market sizing, business model development, and other quantitative analyses
    • Primary and secondary research, including survey design and analysis and interviews with subject matter experts
    • Development of original frameworks and strategies including customer segmentation, go-to-market strategies, churn reduction initiatives, etc.
  • Managing execution of entire project, including guiding and coaching junior staff and synthesizing quantitative and qualitative findings into meaningful insights
  • Assuming a key role with clients as primary point of contact, ensuring we are providing innovative and actionable solutions to their most critical problems
  • Leading deck development and presentation of key findings and recommendations to our clients
  • Developing content-specific knowledge while supporting business development efforts and client relationships
  • Supporting ongoing internal firm-building initiatives including recruiting, mentoring junior staff, diversity and inclusion initiatives, community service, and other special projects


We are looking for a Manager who can:

Plan, manage, execute, and synthesize a variety of research and analysis tasks. This includes:
  • Leveraging problem solving skills to generate original frameworks to structure the client's business problem into logical manageable components that will guide their growth strategy
  • Leading junior staff in designing financial and operational models and conducting secondary and primary research gathering activities, including surveys and expert interviews
  • Identifying, analyzing, and evaluating go-to-market strategies, marketplace issues and opportunities, and competitive environment to reach actionable insights
  • Remaining flexible and adaptable when goals or deadlines shift, and being able to scale a workstream to meet the client's needs


Develop and present findings to clients while building key relationships. This includes:
  • Creating and confidently communicating complex ideas via verbal, written, and visual means
  • Formulating the full storyline of the project, and distilling the key information from detailed analysis into an executive narrative
  • Establishing a viewpoint on what key questions should be prioritized beyond what's articulated in the explicit agreement and developing hypotheses that address those questions
  • Developing content mastery, drawing on industry and functional experience to frame key issues and help influence executives and stakeholders
  • Serving as key point of contact with the client on overall project deliverables, providing status updates and preliminary findings, answering questions, and identifying follow-up opportunities


Manage execution of entire project while coaching junior staff. This includes:
  • Providing oversight and leadership in executing projects from planning to delivery by managing resources, relationships, and staff to achieve project objectives and meet timelines
  • Identifying workstreams and delegating work effectively, balancing project needs and task complexity with the team's experience and development needs
  • Taking time to teach best practices and provide ample positive and constructive feedback empathetically, guiding the professional development of junior staff and ensuring a positive project experience

Compensation: $220,000 + performance bonus
