PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Process proposals for potential new contracts
- Issue RFQ's and drawing packages to potential sources of supply to bid government and foreign direct sales contracts and commercial business, sometimes requires constructing a bill of material
- Negotiate with supplier partners for best possible prices, quantities, and delivery of goods and services
- Create Sub-Contracts with selected sources to cover requirements for SPLO contracts for spare parts and services, including expediting emergency orders, especially for emergency situations for US Govt Depots and the Warfighter
- Supervise the overall activity of the AFTC SCM group to ensure proposals and purchase orders/contracts are processed in a timely and efficient manner
- Assist in identifying potential sources of supply
- Negotiate pricing and resource parts to new suppliers to maintain competitive edge for AFTC
- Manage US Government audits of AFTC Procurement activities
- Work closely with all other AFTC, MMC, PTAP and TEC functions, especially Engineering, Materials, Pricing and Contracts, to win new business
- Keep pricing updated in SAP with latest costs on spares and services
- Work with Pricing and Contracts to bid competitive prices to beat the competition in an increasingly competitive market
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS- Bachelor's degree in Business Management or related field required
- Knowledge of government procurement regulations, FAR
- Ability to work well with people as a team leader
- Requires excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Must have good leadership skills to manage the AFTC SCM Team
- Working knowledge of SAP and other tools such as SharePoint, Team Center, etc.
PHYSICAL EFFORT- Sight: must be able to regularly read computer screen, reports, and various documents with detail and clarity to accomplish work tasks in a safe and efficient manner, including regular use of adequate close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus
- Hearing: must be able to regularly hear well enough to communicate

- Methodical approach: Production lines follow a set process, so this position needs a methodical approach to ensure all tasks are completed in the correct order for a smooth-running production line
- Concentration: This position may perform the same or similar tasks repeatedly, so a strong level of concentration when carrying out these tasks is important for quality control purposes. This role is often fast paced, so being able to maintain focus at all times is important
