149,600 - 182,800

Salary for the candidate will be determined taking into consideration a number of factors including: experience, skills, qualifications, anticipated contribution to role, internal equity, etc. The salary range presented above is based on a 35-hour workweek and would represent a majority of different candidate profiles. However, we encourage candidates who may fall outside of this range to apply as well.
About the role
As a Manager, Actuarial, CL Systems, your work will have a big impact on our Pricing, Commercial Lines team. People will count on you to ensure the quality of deliverables affecting the rating and underwriting systems, develop strategic tools and supervise activities.
What you’ll do here:
- Ensure the quality of operational deliverables, oversee daily activities by planning and dispatching work, promote teamwork and guide the training and development of team members.
- Develop and maintain rating and underwriting rules in a system in a way to maximize the need for flexibility and speed of the commercial lines strategy.
- Plan and oversee the execution of test strategies to ensure continuous improvement of deployment quality.
- Ensure the team is productive and continuously works to improve the processes and tools.
- Manage performance reviews, training and coaching for group members to meet the company’s strategic objectives.
- Manage your team’s activities by organizing, planning and controlling the optimal use of human, financial and material resources in accordance with company strategies and budget planning.
- Act as a key stakeholder and actuarial representative for large-scale IT projects, translating conceptual needs into concrete and clear specifications and participating in the development and tracking of deliverables.
- Represent the Actuarial function on various company task forces and act as the point of contact for other business units.
What you bring to the table:
- University degree in Actuarial Science, Information Technology or Business Administration
- Minimum 6 years of professional experience including at least 2 years in management or coaching
- Knowledge of commercial lines insurance market
- Good strategic vision and facilitator of change
- Strong communication, time management and organizational skills
- Development of strategic working relationships
- Foster engagement
- Strategic decision making
- For candidates located in Quebec, bilingualism is required considering the necessity to interact on a regular basis with English-speaking colleagues across the country.
- No Canadian work experience required, however must be eligible to work in Canada.
