What is the role?

As the Billing Manager, you will be a key leader within our Accounting organization, responsible for driving the strategic execution and continuous evolution of our global billing operations. You will lead a high-performing team, fostering a culture of accountability and innovation while ensuring strict adherence to ASC 606 and internal compliance standards. Leveraging a robust tech stack, you will manage the end-to-end billing cycle by navigating Salesforce for contract accuracy, executing complex financial workflows in Oracle, and utilizing advanced Excel functions for deep-dive data analysis and reporting. This is a high-impact role that balances meticulous financial integrity with the leadership agility required to optimize system performance and spearhead process improvements in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities
  • Drive cross-functional process optimization and operational excellence by partnering with IT, Customer Success, and Finance across multiple business units to resolve billing issues, and implement process improvements.
  • Responsible for managing the end-to-end billing process, workflows and resources to compile monthly billing information and process invoices for the organization to ensure invoice processing is complete, accurate and properly reflects documented contract terms.
  • Lead operational excellence by utilizing available internal and external software and hardware tools, including AI, to maximize productivity while maintaining transactional integrity.
  • Proactively mitigate financial risk by overseeing and conducting audits and adjustments, and provide and enforce recommendations to department workflows and practices.
  • Resolve escalated and complex billing issues, including those of key customer accounts, perform the required analysis as needed, and effectively communicate findings and resolutions.
  • Lead the accurate billing setup of customer accounts in line with contracted terms, company policy and standards.
  • Oversee and manage routine reporting requirements for cyclical and ad-hoc activity such as detailed review of reconciliations.
  • Assist IT with system conversions and new client implementation in conjunction with Finance, Accounting, Customer Success and Operational teams.
  • Lead a team of 6+ billing professionals and accountants, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Actively manage and assign workflow; monitor volumes; adjust work assignments and provide resource recommendations accordingly.
  • Manage hiring/selection activities, performance management and employee development by providing coaching, training and mentorship on an ongoing basis.
  • Manage and build third-party vendor team implementing standardized reporting, process improvement and solutioning.
  • Undertake ad-hoc assignments and special projects as needed and leverage a strong billing and accounting background to help accomplish organizational goals.


Job Qualifications:

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, preferred.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of billing experience.
  • Prior experience managing billing functions, preferred.
  • 1-3 yrs experience managing people/ leading teams to include experience performing hiring/ selection activities, performance management and employee development.
  • Experience with Oracle financial systems and Salesforce CRM, preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills required for reporting, presentations and information sharing.
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel to manage large sets of data (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, etc.)
  • Understanding of ASC 606 revenue standards.
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks/projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.

77,700 - 91,900 USD
