Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Provide emergency repairs of plant-wide equipment during production and scheduled maintenance repairs during machine service.
  • Perform mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, pneumatic, and hydraulic troubleshooting and repairs.
  • Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders for maintenance tasks.
  • Comply with OSHA safety and health regulations.
  • Utilize hand and power tools for routine maintenance.
  • Transport and lift equipment using forklifts and other specialized equipment.
  • Maintain plant facilities and assist in the installation of new equipment.

Position Title: Maintenance Technician


Position Summary


  • Provide repair and maintenance support in the mechanical, electrical and instrumentation areas of the facility.
  • Perform preventive maintenance service.

Position Scope


  • Scope is specific to Chicago Oleo Plant

Essential Duties and Responsibilities


  • Provides emergency/unscheduled repairs of plant wide equipment during production and performs scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service.
  • Performs mechanical skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, pneumatic and hydraulic troubleshooting and repair of plant wide equipment.
  • Reads and interprets equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
  • Comply with OSHA safety and health rules.
  • Repair and maintain mechanical electrical and instrumentation equipment in the facility as directed by supervisor.
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance on various equipment.
  • Use hand and power tools as required to perform routine equipment maintenance functions.
  • Use powered Man lifts (Eg JLG’s) and Scissor lifts to gain safe access to equipment.
  • Transport and lift equipment using forklift trucks and other specialist equipment.
  • Certify plant instruments following established ISO guidelines.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical/instrumentation problems, diagnose faults and carry out repairs.
  • Always follow all safety procedures.
  • Install new equipment as required.
  • Maintain and upgrade plant facilities as required.
  • Desire to train and increase skill levels in other areas from core skill eg. Mechanical, Electrical & Instrumentation.
  • Complete record keeping documentation such as work orders, parts withdrawal, safety permits, etc. including entering information into the computer system.
  • Responsible for FSSC/GMP food safety related to designated area.  
  • Report any food safety and quality related issues to management immediately. 

Education & Experience


  • Associate’s degree/technical certification in a related field or 3-5 years of applicable maintenance experience in a manufacturing process plant environment, preferably Chemical or Petro Chemical.
  • Ability to pass third party trade tests as required

Pay and Benefits


The starting rate for this position is $39.89/hr.
