Position Title: Maintenance Technician
Position Summary
- Provide repair and maintenance support in the mechanical, electrical and instrumentation areas of the facility.
- Perform preventive maintenance service.
Position Scope
- Scope is specific to Chicago Oleo Plant
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Provides emergency/unscheduled repairs of plant wide equipment during production and performs scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service.
- Performs mechanical skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, pneumatic and hydraulic troubleshooting and repair of plant wide equipment.
- Reads and interprets equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
- Comply with OSHA safety and health rules.
- Repair and maintain mechanical electrical and instrumentation equipment in the facility as directed by supervisor.
- Perform routine preventative maintenance on various equipment.
- Use hand and power tools as required to perform routine equipment maintenance functions.
- Use powered Man lifts (Eg JLG’s) and Scissor lifts to gain safe access to equipment.
- Transport and lift equipment using forklift trucks and other specialist equipment.
- Certify plant instruments following established ISO guidelines.
- Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical/instrumentation problems, diagnose faults and carry out repairs.
- Always follow all safety procedures.
- Install new equipment as required.
- Maintain and upgrade plant facilities as required.
- Desire to train and increase skill levels in other areas from core skill eg. Mechanical, Electrical & Instrumentation.
- Complete record keeping documentation such as work orders, parts withdrawal, safety permits, etc. including entering information into the computer system.
- Responsible for FSSC/GMP food safety related to designated area.
- Report any food safety and quality related issues to management immediately.
Education & Experience
- Associate’s degree/technical certification in a related field or 3-5 years of applicable maintenance experience in a manufacturing process plant environment, preferably Chemical or Petro Chemical.
- Ability to pass third party trade tests as required

The starting rate for this position is $39.89/hr.
