Position Overview:The Maintenance Team Leader in Major Maintenance leads the planning, coordination, and execution of assigned major maintenance, turnaround, tank, and program work to ensure safe, efficient, and cost-effective project delivery. This role leads contract personnel, coordinates cross-functional planning activities, monitors project progress and budgets, and ensures compliance with HSSE standards while supporting equipment reliability, plant performance, and operational excellence.
Responsibilities:- Lead the planning, estimating, scheduling, and safe execution of assigned major maintenance, tank, and program work to achieve scope, schedule, cost, and quality objectives.
- Chair planning, coordination, and pre-job safety meetings, ensuring project milestones are met throughout the work lifecycle.
- Coordinate with planners, schedulers, operations, cost control, contractors, and other stakeholders to optimize resource utilization and execution readiness.
- Maintain strong field presence by conducting regular safety and productivity walks, verifying work quality, adherence to plans, and compliance with HSSE requirements.
- Monitor project progress, workforce allocation, budgets, and costs, including planned, estimated, committed, accrued, and discovery work, providing timely updates to management.
- Identify, evaluate, and manage discovery work, minimizing operational risk through effective planning, estimating, execution, and reporting.
- Oversee maintenance documentation, work order management, equipment history, and reporting to ensure accurate records and effective communication.
- Monitor equipment performance and maintenance trends, recommending improvements that enhance reliability, reduce unplanned outages, and extend asset life.
- Promote a culture of safety, continuous improvement, and operational excellence by ensuring regulatory compliance, investigating incidents and near misses, and implementing corrective actions.
Experience and Qualifications:Basic Qualifications- High school diploma or equivalent education
- 5+ years of industrial maintenance experience
- Working knowledge of maintenance planning and scheduling processes, work management systems, and preventive/predictive maintenance practices
- Strong knowledge of industrial safety practices, HSSE requirements, permit-to-work systems, and applicable regulatory standards
- Excellent leadership, communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills with the ability to coordinate multiple priorities across cross-functional teams
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint
Physical Requirements: - Physical ability to work around and on industrial equipment, including frequent climbing of stairs and ladders
- Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in designated areas (respirator, hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, heeled boots, and hearing protection)
