Full Job Description
Position Summary:

We are seeking Maintenance Team Lead to utilize their USCG or US Navy practical engineering experience and technical writing skills to develop and review RCM, MPCs, and Technical Manuals. The purpose of this work is to provide detailed and technically correct Maintenance data for the Hull, Machinery and electrical (HM&E) and Marine Electronics equipment on the U.S. Coast Guard Offshore Patrol Cutter (OPC).

Duties/Responsibilities:

Develop and review RCM, MPCs to include, drafting, updating, reviewing, correcting and quality control reviews in accordance with the Planned Maintenance System (PMS) Development Process Guide CGTO PG-85-00-230-S by performing the following tasks:
  • Develop and review Maintenance requirements generated by the Reliability Centered Maintenance process and generate new MPCs identified on the approved Maintenance Requirement List (MRL).
  • Develop detailed maintenance procedures for required preventive and corrective maintenance tasks.
  • Identify required tools, consumables, expendables, and appropriate cautions and warnings
  • Research various systems for technical and supply data; provide technical recommendations for Technical Publication updates. Translate Original Equipment Manufacturers' (OEMS) recommended maintenance procedure into Coast Guard format.
  • Review drawings for accuracy; provide technical recommendations for drawing/photo updates.
  • May be required to perform ship visits to validate technical information for inclusion in MPCs or to validate MPCs before publication.
  • Format technical information to align with the approved process and develop clear procedures to conduct required maintenance.
  • Implement changes required in response to field generated maintenance feedback reports
  • Conduct data calls to the fleet.

Minimum Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Five years' experience with relevant naval engineering maintenance procedure development or accomplishing maintenance. (Previous Coast Guard MPC Development experience preferred.)
  • Possess a working knowledge of varying Coast Guard processes, principles, and tools. These include databases used to review, maintain, and update cutter maintenance records.
  • Possess a working knowledge of all standard office equipment (phones, computers, scanners, fax machines, etc.) as well as Microsoft Office applications.
  • Be able to work in a team environment collaborating with others to solve problems, address issues, and develop innovative solutions often working with a geographically dispersed team.
  • Be able to clearly speak, read, and write in American English using proper grammar and punctuation.

Education:
  • High School Diploma (AA degree preferred)

Certifications Desired:
  • RCM level II

Experience:
  • RCM Level II: 7 years (Preferred)
  • MPC development: 5 years (Preferred)
