Maintenance Supervisor
Longhini Sausage | New Haven, CT

Compensation:$90,000 - $105,000 base salary + annual bonus eligibility
Location: New Haven, CT (On-Site)
Schedule: Full-Time | Exempt
Reports To: Plant Manager

We're looking for a hands-on Maintenance Supervisor who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and enjoys balancing leadership with technical expertise. This role is ideal for someone who wants to lead a maintenance team while remaining actively involved on the production floor, solving problems, improving equipment reliability, and driving operational excellence.
What You'll Do
Lead Maintenance Operations
  • Supervise and develop Maintenance Technicians to ensure safety, accountability, and high performance.
  • Assign and prioritize daily maintenance activities.
  • Foster a culture of urgency, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
  • Serve as the go-to maintenance leader for production support and facility reliability.
Own the Preventative Maintenance Program
  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve preventive maintenance schedules.
  • Maintain maintenance records, work orders, and equipment history.
  • Identify recurring issues and implement long-term corrective solutions.
  • Reduce downtime through proactive planning and execution.
Be a Hands-On Technical Expert
  • Troubleshoot and repair processing, packaging, refrigeration, electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical systems.
  • Respond quickly to equipment breakdowns and production interruptions.
  • Lead by example through active participation in maintenance activities.
  • Coordinate emergency repairs and support production when needed.
Drive Food Safety & Compliance
  • Ensure compliance with SQF, USDA, OSHA, GMP, and food safety requirements.
  • Support internal and external audits.
  • Partner with Quality, Production, and Sanitation teams to maintain audit-ready operations.
  • Monitor facility utilities, refrigeration systems, compressed air, and infrastructure.
Improve Performance & Control Costs
  • Identify opportunities to improve equipment performance and asset longevity.
  • Manage maintenance inventory and spare parts.
  • Support capital projects, equipment installations, and facility upgrades.
  • Help drive productivity, product quality, and profitability.

What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications

  • Technical certification or Associate Degree in Industrial Maintenance, Electrical Systems, or related field.

  • Experience in USDA- or SQF-regulated manufacturing environments.
  • Familiarity with CMMS systems and preventive maintenance scheduling.
