  • Manage subcontractors and ensure the quality of their work.
  • Track downtime data and implement solutions to reduce recurring issues.

Overview

Hampton Lumber in Darrington, Washington, is looking for an experienced Maintenance Supervisor responsible for overseeing the maintenance, repair, and reliability of sawmill equipment and lumber processing machinery. Leads maintenance teams in performing preventive and corrective maintenance to minimize downtime, improve production efficiency, and ensure workplace safety. Coordinates equipment inspections, troubleshooting, parts inventory, and contractor activities while ensuring compliance with safety regulations and company standards. Works closely with production management to maximize operational performance, equipment reliability, and continuous improvement initiatives

 

Salary is $100,000-125,000

  • Safety Leadership: Champion safe work practices, enforce standards, and lead incident prevention efforts.
  • Team Development: Lead, coach, and mentor maintenance employees; foster growth through on-the-job training and feedback. 
  • Planning & Execution: Schedule and prioritize daily/weekly maintenance tasks; balance urgent repairs with long-term preventive and predictive programs.
  • Problem-Solving: Troubleshoot and resolve issues in hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems to minimize downtime. 
  • Collaboration: Partner with production supervisors to align maintenance priorities with mill goals.
  • Vendor Oversight: Manage subcontractors and vendors, ensuring high-quality, timely, and cost-effective work.
  • Continuous Improvement: Track downtime data, lead root cause analysis, and implement solutions to reduce recurring issues.
  • Resource Management: Oversee purchasing, inventory control, and cost management for parts and supplies.
  • Compliance & Administration: Ensure adherence to safety, environmental, and company standards. Maintain accurate documentation and records through CMMS and reporting tools.
  • Understand the 4 Step Process of Machine Center Ownership: Preventive Maintenance, Planning work, Kitting, and Completing the Job.
