Full Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY: The Maintenance Planner is responsible for developing and coordinating maintenance plans to ensure efficient and timely upkeep of equipment, machinery, and facilities. The incumbent schedules work orders, allocates resources, and prioritizes tasks to minimize downtime and support production goals. The Maintenance Planner collaborates with maintenance, operations, and engineering teams to track progress, monitor performance, and optimize maintenance workflows. The incumbent will help improve operational efficiency, equipment reliability, and overall maintenance effectiveness.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILTIES:
  • Develop, maintain, and optimize preventive and predictive maintenance schedules (routine and outage) for equipment and facilities.
  • Use scheduling software (MS Project) to develop and track maintenance and outage schedules.
  • Coordinate and plan maintenance activities with operations, engineering, and maintenance teams to minimize downtime.
  • Analyze maintenance history and equipment performance data to identify trends and optimize scheduling.
  • Prepare and distribute work orders, ensuring all necessary resources, tools, and parts are available for maintenance tasks.
  • Review drawings, P&IDs, OEM manuals, and procedures to support work execution.
  • Monitor completion of maintenance tasks and update records in computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
  • Collaborate with maintenance supervisors and technicians to prioritize work based on operational needs and safety requirements.
  • Assist in budget planning, resource allocation, and spare parts inventory management for maintenance operations.
  • Ensure all maintenance planning activities comply with safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives by analyzing workflow, identifying bottlenecks, and recommending process enhancements.
  • Communicate effectively with internal teams and vendors to ensure timely completion of maintenance projects.
  • Support capital projects such as equipment replacement, facility upgrades, and performance improvements.
  • Participating in and leading root cause analysis and reliability improvement efforts.
  • Coaches and develops a team of professionals to assist in their development and attainment of necessary skills to lift performance. Monitors staff performance and drives performance improvement initiatives and ensures that service levels meet or exceed agreed upon standards.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned or apparent.


QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Understanding of maintenance management systems, equipment operations, and preventive maintenance practices. Proficiency with CMMS systems and scheduling software. Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, electrical schematics, and OEM manual.
  • Ability to analyze maintenance data, identify trends, and make data-driven scheduling decisions.
  • Skill in resolving scheduling conflicts, prioritizing tasks, and optimizing resource allocation.
  • Accuracy in planning, documenting, and tracking maintenance activities.
  • Strong verbal and written skills for coordinating with maintenance teams, operations, and management.
  • Ability to manage multiple maintenance schedules and projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.


MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
  • 2-4 years of experience in maintenance planning, scheduling, or reliability engineering.
  • Experience in a supervisory capacity.


Pay Range:

The pay range for this position is $86,700.00 to $119,250.00* which reflects the minimum wage in multiple jurisdictions. The actual range will depend on the locality in which you are hired.

Bonus Plan Details (if applicable):

Bonus - Annual Incentive Plan Target, 10% Annual
