Full Job Description
  • Direct supervision/management of all maintenance personnel. This includes supervisory of hourly employees.
  • Assist maintenance personnel in solving maintenance related problems and/or new projects, with minimum interruption to production. This includes the joint decision with senior management whether take equipment off production or proceed with temporary measures.
  • Analyse equipment down time such as problem causes, corrective action effectiveness etc. Utilize this information to continually improve equipment performance, reduce time, reduce cost.
  • Estimate, schedule and execute preventative maintenance program for all equipment, ensuring that equipment meets changes to customer, Government, safety and quality requirements. Maintain accurate records for costing and invoicing requirements.
  • Design, recommend, supervise/coordinate in-house and/or sub-contracted modifications to the equipment in order to improve production and/or quality.
  • Source all parts and components required for equipment maintenance and improvement.
  • Actively participate in the design, development and/or implementation of latest technologies to improve productivity and/or quality.
  • Coordinate and participate in all maintenance personnel training to ensure all personnel is fully trained to meet changing technologies, customer, Government, health and safety requirements.
  • Conduct monthly performance appraisals and review with maintenance personnel.
  • Prepare a departmental operating annual budget in accordance with company strategies and objectives and ensure adherence to it. Continually seek and implement cost reduction measures.

Ensure and enforce maintenance personnel compliance to all health and safety rules and housekeeping principles. Review accident investigation reports and ensure appropriate action has been taken to prevent future accidents and eliminate immediate and basic
  • causes.
  • Establish and monitor overall procedures methods, projects and programs designed to improve manufacturing efficiencies and company profitability.
  • Actively and continuously participate in and provide expert advise to employee involvement teams and continuous improvement team.
  • Advise management of all potential problems and offer solutions for improvement.
  • Exceed or meet all objectives/requirements of the business plan.
  • Assist in the development of job descriptions for maintenance personnel.
  • Conduct interviews during hiring process and ensure new employee receives an orientation.
  • In the event of receiving customer concern (verbal or electronic) while on shift duty issues customer/concern report and includes Production Manager and QA Manager in distribution. Depending to the magnitude of concern may contact the Production Manager and/or QA Manager at home using the contact list.
  • Follow all departmental and general procedures where applicable
  • Perform other duties determined by the Assistant General Manager or General Manager.
  • Abide by all company safety rules, responsibilities, polices and procedures including the legislative requirements of the OHSA
  • Work in compliance and conform to ISO14001 and IATF16949 standards
  • Adopt and practice Kaizen principles; participate in Kaizen and GEAR activities
