We are recruiting for a Maintenance Manager to join our team at South Field Energy (SFE), which is a 1,150 MW 2x1x1 GE 7HA.02 combined cycle electric generating facility located in Columbiana County, OH. The Maintenance Manager reports directly to the Facility Manager and manages the maintenance of all plant equipment and facilities, and the planning, scheduling for all maintenance activities, to ensure safe, reliable and efficient plant operations/power generation. Other critical responsibilities of the role include management oversight for the procurement, receiving, issuance, and maintenance of an adequate inventory of materials and parts to maintain an optimum level of equipment operability and reliability. This role is responsible to contract maintenance work that is beyond the scope and capabilities of the maintenance staff.
Qualified candidates must have 4 - 6 years' experience and/or training conducting or leading maintenance on a gas turbine combined cycle power plant.
Job Responsibilities- Ensures safe work practices and procedures are observed.
- Ensures that required mechanical and electrical maintenance activities during forced or scheduled outages are completed according to established schedules.
- Monitors and oversees preventive/predictive maintenance activities at the plant.
- Develops and implements long-range maintenance planning to assure the reliable and efficient operation of station equipment.
- Directs subordinate personnel in outage planning and scheduling of maintenance to assure thorough investigation of each request, determining material needs and other prerequisites such as equipment/tools needed, workforce needs, and procedures required.
- Ensures coordination of group activities with plant Environmental Specialist as needed to maintain compliance regarding work-related environmental issues.
- Implement standard work management processes and procedures that are consistent with the EthosEnergy model.
- Manages the procurement, receiving, issuance, and maintenance of an adequate inventory of materials required to perform plant activities.
- Monitors the work of material personnel to assure that warehousing services are available and operated consistently with plant needs.
- Administrator, site Planner/Scheduler, and plant counterparts regarding inventory and purchasing activities.
- Monitors inventory levels to assure adequate supplies of spare parts, equipment and materials are available while minimizing company investment.
- Ensures that all inventory is linked to a piece of equipment in Infor.
- Maintains a productive and motivated staff through sound human resource management and the enforcement of personnel policy
- Ensures work group activities are performed on time and within budget through effective planning, organizing, scheduling, and monitoring of work activities and utilization of resources.
- Sets high and challenging productivity and quality standards for self and work group; encourages new ideas and work methods to lower costs and increase productivity, quality and safety.
- Assigns responsibility for tasks and decisions and manages expectations of others.
- Promptly and fairly resolves any personnel or work-related problems. Utilizes the Performance Management program to provide performance feedback to employees
- Provides direct reports with well-defined job expectations, ongoing performance feedback and accurate appraisal of performance.
- Plans and controls group expenditures to control costs and provide for the availability of resources
- Prepares maintenance budget for the group. Projects and controls work group expenditures to maintain compliance with budgeted funds.
- Monitors actual budget variances and justifies deviations.
- Supports company/plant goals and programs
- Represents the company/plant in a professional and positive manner in all internal and external contacts. Maintains effective community and public relations image of Owner and Company.
- Translates company/plant goals into Group tactical plans and goals
Required Skills / Knowledge- Demonstrates knowledge of all facets of power plant maintenance operations.
- Demonstrates the ability to make competent decisions in emergency situations.
- Capable of writing maintenance procedures, work requests, and purchase requisitions.
- Demonstrates the ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, electrical one-lines, logic drawings, technical manuals and P&ID's.
- Demonstrate good verbal and written communication skills.
- Will write routine reports, solve practical problems, clearly communicate tasks and needs, and train other personnel.
- Assures safe, timely and efficient resolution of problems to return systems and equipment to ready-to-run conditions and meet system operability needs
- Implements appropriate change recommendations for the company leadership team.
- Understands changes and communicates effectively with team members.
- Experience in use of a Computerized Maintenance Management System
- Role model for quality work, safety and work ethics.
Experience- Four to six years' related experience and/or training; or a combination of experience and/or education preferred.
- Experience in conducting or leading maintenance on a gas turbine combined cycle power plant
Education Requirements- Associates Degree (AA) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
Physical Requirements- The employee must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
