SummaryThe
Maintenance Manager is responsible for improving equipment reliability, optimizing maintenance strategies, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives within a seafood manufacturing facility. This role will place a strong emphasis on maintenance planning, parts inventory management, and the employee training and development process. This focus will support the long-term sustainability and effectiveness of maintenance operations.
Responsibilities- Develop and support preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
- Analyze equipment performance and lead root cause failure analysis (RCFA).
- Improve equipment uptime, reliability, and maintenance processes. Reduce downtime.
- Support and enhance CMMS usage, data accuracy, and reporting.
- Ensure facility is maintained in a state of preparedness for audits and visits, at all times.
Planning & Inventory Focus
- Support maintenance planning, scheduling, and work order processes.
- Train and mentor team members on planning practices and workflow coordination.
- Oversee spare parts inventory, ensuring critical parts availability and accuracy.
- Partner with maintenance and purchasing to improve parts tracking and replenishment.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Assist with equipment upgrades, installations, and capital projects.
- Ensure compliance with safety procedures including lock out / tag out (LOTO), food safety (HACCP), and regulatory requirements.
Capital Projects & Engineering Support
- Assist with equipment upgrades, installations, and capital projects
- Provide technical expertise for new equipment selection and commissioning
- Ensure equipment design meets food safety and sanitation standards
Qualifications and SkillsTechnical Knowledge
- Understanding of OSHA, LOTO, GMP, HACCP, SQF standards, and FDA/USDA regulations.
- Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
- Experience with processing, packaging, or refrigeration systems preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and maintenance reporting tools and systems.
- Skilled in utilizing CMMS systems and supporting maintenance planning.
- Experience with food safety certification audits, including SQF and others.

Education - Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related field.
- 3-5+ years of relevant maintenance/reliability experience may be considered in lieu of a Degree.
- Food manufacturing experience preferred.
