  • Develop and execute the Capital 5-year plan and annual budget for plant performance.

Full Job Description
Lantic is currently recruiting for the position of Maintenance Manager, located at its Taber Processing Plant. Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Maintenance Manager supports and directs the maintenance staff, the production equipment, and building structure with a focus on accountability, reliability, efficiency, and waste reduction through Best Maintenance Practices. WE ARE LOOKING FOR SOMEONE WHO WILL: - Ensure compliance with Heath & Safety and Environmental regulations and requirements with the objective of zero harm; - Oversee the improvement of the site's equipment, systems, and infrastructure; - Provide leadership for the implementation and optimization of Best Maintenance Practices, inventory parts, standard inspection programs, and predictive/preventative maintenance programs; - Lead and support the Electrical Safety Program roll out and maintain compliance; - Follow up on day-to-day achievement of Maintenance KPIs and any related corrective action; - Ensure timely completion of safety corrective actions and incident investigations, including related follow-ups for various departments; - Ensure full utilization of Computerized Maintenance Management System; - Ensure the scheduling and supervision of overhauls and rebuilding to ensure that the plant is fully operational and safe to operate within schedule requirements; - Work with the management team to improve plant operations and maintenance regarding safety, quality, cost efficiency, and resource conservation; - Continuous reduction of overall plant downtime using available resources; - Manage Capital 5-year plan and budgeting yearly to maximize plant performance; - Provide training and succession planning for the Maintenance department; - Provide leadership to promote and support Lantic's Mission and Values; - Provide coverage for various Managers as required; - Provide coverage for Supervisors in case of emergency; - Foster a continuous improvement and change management mindset; - Other duties as assigned. WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO JOIN THE TEAM: - First Class Power Engineer with a valid First-Class Steam Ticket in the province of Alberta or be within 1 year of achieving a First-Class Ticket is required; - Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering would be considered an asset; - Red Seal trade certification with relevant management experience would be considered as an asset; - Valid Class 5 driver's license; - Minimum of 5-10 years maintenance management experience in a production facility; preferably food production; - Knowledge and familiarity with automated process/packaging technology a definite asset; - Experience in structured Maintenance Planning and Scheduling process with a CMMS system, Maximo preferred; - Knowledge and experiences with Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement programs as well as Project Management would be considered an asset; - Good working computer knowledge and familiarity with Maximo, Navision, SharePoint and Microsoft Office programs; - Be a demonstrated decision-maker who easily interacts with others, and who adopts a 'hands-on' approach to leading and motivating a team; - Excellent leadership, interpersonal, organizational, motivational, and communication skills; - Proven ability to create and execute project plans that have achieved the identified targets; - Planning and management skills; - Excellent knowledge of manufacturing/packaging techniques; - Conflict management abilities.
