Full Job Description
Tesla's in-house Lithium Refinery is located in the greater Corpus Christi area of Texas. This investment is critical to our mission to accelerate the world's transition to sustainable energy and represents our efforts to aggressively increase the supply of battery-grade lithium hydroxide available in North America.
We are seeking a Maintenance Execution Leads to help further our mission. As a Maintenance Execution Lead, you will interface closely with the Project, Commissioning, and Operations teams ensure that all field work led by Tesla is safely and efficiently executed according to Project specifications. Once the unit is fully operational, you will work closely with the site's Planners, Specialists, and Engineers to ensure that planned work is well-understood by Technicians and Contractors and is safely executed according to these plans. You will also lead the planning and execution of break-in work required to keep the unit online. This position will be required to work a shifting schedule until the site is stabilized, leading multi-disciplinary crews through complex jobs with little oversight.

Responsibilities
  • Work closely with discipline specialists and engineers in the development and implementation of acceptance criteria that will govern the handover from Project to Operations teams. Work closely with Vendors, Engineers, and Technicians in the execution of efficient, tag specific commissioning plans
  • Lead the execution of commissioning activities across organizational boundaries, inclusive of vendor support, on-site resource balancing, tooling requirements, and utility needs
  • Provide regular stewardship of commissioning execution progress and challenges to multiple levels of the organization. Collaborating closely with the maintenance planning team to translate maintenance plans into actionable tasks for the execution team
  • Leading a team of skilled technicians and tradespeople in the successful completion of maintenance activities, both planned and reactive
  • Ensure that maintenance tasks are executed according to established safety protocols, industry best practices, and Tesla's standards. Monitor the progress of maintenance activities daily, adjusting schedules as needed to meet operational requirements
  • Identifying opportunities for process improvements, cost savings, and efficiency gains within maintenance execution processes
  • Leverage commissioning experience to assist in the development and implementation of preventative maintenance procedures, work practices, & equipment strategies to enable efficient life-cycle management of plant assets post-startup


Requirements
  • Evidence of exceptional ability, including a strong understanding of equipment maintenance fundamentals and demonstrated ability to leverage this understanding to solve challenging technical problems
  • 5+ years of execution leadership in an industrial manufacturing environment, with experience supporting maintenance organizations in the development and execution of detailed job plans
  • Experience with solids handling, rotary calcination and hydro-metallurgical equipment is a plus
  • Proven ability to operate under pressure while managing multiple priorities simultaneously. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment, occasionally requiring extended hours and alternative shifts
  • Ability to communicate clearly and interface with multiple engineering disciplines, vendors, craft experts, as well as executives
  • Must have command of the English language, both written and verbal
