Job Summary
We are seeking a Mainframe Engineer to support client conversion and deconversion activities, data processing, internal conversion events, and application modernization initiatives. The ideal candidate will have extensive mainframe development experience and a strong desire to learn modern distributed technologies while collaborating with technical and business teams to deliver high-quality solutions.
Key Responsibilities
• Support client conversion and deconversion activities, including processing data updates.
• Participate in internal conversion initiatives, including mergers, acquisitions, and other business events.
• Develop, maintain, and enhance mainframe applications using COBOL, DB2, JCL, and VSAM.
• Collaborate with technical and business stakeholders to deliver effective solutions that meet business requirements.
• Support modernization initiatives by learning and contributing to distributed technology platforms.
• Assist in migrating legacy processes to modern cloud-based and distributed platforms.
• Develop and maintain high-quality, reliable software solutions.
• Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve application and data-related issues.
• Work on multiple initiatives simultaneously while maintaining quality and delivery standards.
• Continuously learn and adopt new technologies to support modernization efforts.
Required Qualifications
• 8+ years of mainframe software development experience.
• Strong experience with COBOL, DB2, JCL, and VSAM.
• Knowledge of SQL.
• Experience with File-AID, Eztrieve, and SPUFI.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with technical and business stakeholders.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities.
• Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative team-oriented mindset.
• Demonstrated commitment to delivering high-quality software solutions.
• Willingness to learn new technologies and support modernization initiatives.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with SnapLogic.
• Experience with Snowflake.
• Experience with AWS.
• Exposure to distributed technologies such as Java, Angular, or Python.
• Experience supporting legacy modernization or migration initiatives.
