Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Mainframe Developer to maintain, modernize, and enhance an Automated Cash Management platform within a complex financial services environment. The role combines hands-on mainframe development and production support in a batch-oriented environment, with a focus on COBOL, JCL, DB2, VSAM, and CICS. The ideal candidate will also contribute to legacy modernization initiatives involving Java, CI/CD, APIs, cloud, and hybrid integration.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop, test, and implement enhancements for the Automated Cash Management platform.
• Build and maintain applications using COBOL, JCL, DB2, VSAM, and CICS.
• Modernize legacy applications by migrating or integrating functionality with Java-based solutions.
• Work with Oracle Database as part of application development and data processing activities.
• Support and troubleshoot batch processes using Control-M and related scheduling tools.
• Resolve production issues and perform root-cause analysis to improve application stability.
• Work with batch scheduling, file-based data flows, EBCDIC data, and online transaction processing.
• Support messaging and mainframe utilities including MQ Series and Easytrieve or REXX.
• Use Endevor, GitLab, and CI/CD practices for source control and software delivery.
• Contribute to modernization initiatives involving API enablement, data virtualization, cloud, and hybrid integration.
• Collaborate with product, business, support, and offshore development teams.
• Contribute to the responsible use of AI-assisted development tools such as Windsurf, Codex, and Claude Code.
• Maintain technical documentation and support knowledge transfer across global teams.
Required Qualifications
• 7+ years of mainframe development experience.
• Strong hands-on experience with COBOL, JCL, DB2, VSAM, and CICS.
• Experience with batch processing, Control-M, batch scheduling, and file-based data flows.
• Experience with MQ Series and either Easytrieve or REXX.
• Understanding of EBCDIC and online transaction processing.
• Experience with Oracle Database.
• Experience with Endevor, GitLab, and CI/CD practices.
• Strong production support and troubleshooting experience, including root-cause analysis.
• Experience working with Java for legacy modernization initiatives.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills with the ability to work across product, business, support, and global development teams.
Preferred Qualifications
• Financial services experience.
• Experience with API enablement, data virtualization, cloud-hybrid integration, or other mainframe modernization initiatives.
• Experience using AI-assisted software development tools such as Windsurf, Codex, or Claude Code.
