Location and Compensation
• Buffalo, NY * Be part of an exciting journey as we prepare for production at our new facility in the Western New York Science & Technology Advanced Manufacturing Park (STAMP).
• Edwards Genesee location address: 6685 Crosby Rd Basom, NY 14013
• Salary Range: $38.25 - $48.08

Your role

The CNC Machinist Team Lead is a working leader responsible for overseeing the daily activities of a team of machinists to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality production. This individual plays a key role in workflow coordination, issue resolution, training, and continuous improvement, while maintaining expert-level proficiency on CNC machinery.
• Lead and coordinate day-to-day operations for assigned machinists, ensuring production goals are met safely and efficiently.
• Operate and troubleshoot HMC, mill-turn, grinder, and balancer machines as needed to support team output and remove barriers.
• Monitor adherence to safety protocols, quality standards, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Act as the first point of contact for problem-solving, escalating technical or quality issues to engineering and management as needed.
• Support the implementation of 6S, lean manufacturing, and continuous improvement initiatives within the cell.
• Conduct on-the-job training and mentorship for Tier 1-3 machinists, promoting skill development and cross-training.
• Collaborate with Cell Support Engineers, Production Supervisors, and Quality to ensure smooth handoffs and resolution of recurring issues.
• Assist with shift handovers, job scheduling, resource planning, and tracking of production metrics.
• Provide input on performance evaluations, training needs, and team member development opportunities.

• 6+ years of CNC machining experience, including advanced knowledge of machining principles and CNC programming fundamentals.
• Prior experience mentoring or leading others in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of blueprint reading, GD&T, in-process inspections, and precision measurement tools.
• Proven ability to drive results through collaboration, accountability, and leadership.
• Strong communication skills and ability to make decisions in a fast-paced production setting.
• Willingness to work on the floor as a hands-on leader, balancing operational duties with team support.
