Description

The Media Analytics Department at NEC Labs America solves fundamental challenges in computer vision, with a focus on autonomy, embodied AI, LLM agents and foundational vision-language models. We are seeking research engineers with skills and experience in developing autonomy and robotics stacks (sensors, perception, navigation, planning, control, or simulation). This unique position offers the opportunity to work closely with our research team to transform breakthrough ideas into practice. Besides helping build innovative autonomy solutions from the ground up, the position offers the opportunity to publish at top-tier venues such as CVPR or ICCV. Position Requirements
  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related field, or Bachelor's degree with commensurate years of relevant experience
  • Skills in one or more of calibration, perception, prediction, or planning for autonomy or robotics
  • Development experience with ROS or ROS2 deployed on mobility or robotics hardware
  • Familiarity with deep learning frameworks such as Pytorch or Tensorflow


Desirable Skills:
  • Development experience in C, C++
  • Proficiency in version control systems
  • Familiarity with graphics toolkits and OpenCV


The anticipated base salary range for this position is $120,000 to $150,000/annually + bonus + housing allowance + long-term incentive + benefits, depending upon the selected candidate's relevant experience and area of expertise. This role is eligible to participate in the Company's bonus/incentive program.
