DESCRIPTION

Under general supervision of the Multispecialty Clinic Manager and clinical guidance from a registered nurse in the assigned department, the Senior Vocational Nurse performs on a regular basis the full range of patient care activities in support of patient care. This includes, but not limited to, prioritizing and assisting in patient triage processing, preparation and assistance with patient examinations, administering medications, drawing blood, collecting and preparing laboratory tests, assisting with training and validation of competencies of LVN and other patient care support as required, assigned to more complex tasks, and providing patient education and staff training. Position requires initiative, ability to prioritize critical demands, ability to work in a team environment and ability to exercise independent judgment. Performs other related duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) - issued by the state of California.
  • BART or BLS at time of hire with commitment to get BART w/in 6 months of hire date.
  • Two (2) years of relevant experience.
  • Experience in an ambulatory clinic setting.
  • Knowledge of universal precautions and proper use of body mechanics.
  • Ability to take initiative, prioritize critical demands, exercise independent judgement and work in a team environment.
  • Knowledge and training in patient care, environmental care functions, medication/supplies/equipment supply management.
  • Knowledge and experience in one or multiple areas: Urology, Orthopedics, Minimally Invasive Surgery, Cardiology, GI.
  • Knowledge and experience with EPIC and online scheduling.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience in Urology, Orthopedics and/or Minimally Invasive Surgery
  • Experience in a multispecialty clinic or ambulatory care.
  • Experience with EPIC/electronic medical record.

Pay Transparency Act

Annual Full Pay Range: $79,532 - $104,922 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)

Hourly Equivalent: $38.09 - $50.25
