Job Summary
The RoleThe Area Engineer provides design and engineering services and applies expertise to ensure safe and sustainable infrastructure, with a focus on bridges and roads within the Natural Resource Sector. This position emphasizes independent judgement and decision-making, allowing you to make a tangible impact while contributing to an inclusive and collaborative team environment that values diverse perspectives and innovative solutions.
Qualifications:Education and Experience Requirements
- Must be registered, or immediately eligible for registration, as a fully licensed Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) with Engineers and Geoscientists BC (EGBC).
- Degree in Civil/Forest engineering or equivalent as recognized by EGBC.
- Five (5) or more years of recent (within the last seven (7) years), related engineering experience in infrastructure planning, design and/or construction projects.
- Related engineering experience in project management of infrastructure planning, design and/or construction projects.
- Field experience monitoring engineering practices and contract compliance.
- Valid BC Class 5 Driver's Licence (or equivalent) or ability to obtain one immediately.
Preference may be given to those with the following:
- Five (5) or more years recent (within the last 7 years) engineering experience related to the Natural Resource Sector. Further preference may be given for more years of experience in this area.
Provisos:
- Must be willing and able to work in adverse outdoor conditions and terrain.
- Meet safety standards of WorkSafe BC.
About this Position:There is currently one (1) permanent, full time position available in Prince George.
This position has full time on-site requirements.
Applicants who do not fully meet the required qualifications may be considered for this position, but at a lower classification.
