Job Description: Lotus Notes / HCL Domino Application Extraction Consultant
We are seeking an experienced Lotus Notes / HCL Domino specialist to extract and document the design, logic, data, and dependencies of existing Notes applications for use by downstream analysis and modernization teams.
Responsibilities: - Extract application design elements (forms, views, agents, script libraries) and logic (LotusScript, Formula language, Java agents) from Notes databases.
- Profile each application's data model, including fields, types, and data quality issues, using representative document samples.
- Document the security model (ACLs, Readers/Authors fields, encryption) and inter-application dependencies (doclinks, scheduled agents, integrations).
- Handle Notes-specific constructs: rich text, embedded attachments, and response hierarchies.
- Produce clean, consistent, well-structured extraction bundles to a defined template, and flag any incomplete, ambiguous, or untrustworthy content.
Requirements: - 5+ years' hands-on experience administering and/or developing on Lotus Notes / HCL Domino.
- Fluency in LotusScript and Formula language / @functions, with the ability to read and explain legacy, poorly documented code.
- Strong knowledge of the NSF data model, forms, views, agents, replication, and the ACL/security model.
- Practical experience extracting design and data via Domino Designer, DXL, the Notes API, or the Domino REST API.
- Scripting ability for repeatable extraction at scale (e.g., Java agents, PowerShell or Python).
- Disciplined documentation skills and strong attention to fidelity and completeness.
Nice to have: • Experience with Notes migration programmes and tooling (Quest, AvePoint, Teamstudio, etc.) and familiarity with target platforms (Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Power Platform).
