Full Job Description
Your responsibilities

The Head of Logistics is the leader of the Logistics team at thyssenkrupp Dynamic Components. Specifically responsible for directly managing the team, ensuring support and resources are available, coordinating and directing efforts to support internal and external customers. The Head of Logistics leads a team dedicated to excellence through the control of processes, proper root cause identification, supplier excellence and customer satisfaction.
  • Responsible for leading direct material planning, production planning, warehousing, shipping & receiving, transportation and inventory management functions
  • Ensure compliance with U.S. CB&P regulations, maintain harmonized tariff codes, as well as all reporting required for Foreign Trade Zone
  • Support tk Production System and synchronous material flow through lean manufacturing practices
  • While responsible for the overall daily managing of various personnel and functions, is responsible for managing, managing, overseas and assigning specific tasks to the team as outlined in team members individual job descriptions
  • As a member of the management team, individual coordinates and confer with all other staff members to establish and execute short-term and long-term goals as defined in our business plan
  • Establishes reviews and/or improves supply chain procedures for the various areas of responsibility within the group. Assures business processes are well defined, established and meeting our short and long-term goals
  • Confers with the appropriate contacts at ThyssenKrupp Presta Ilsenburg and Liechtenstein regarding supply chain and planning issues. Maintains frequent contacts to assure information- and communication flow is accurate and up to date
  • Supports and coordinates any supply chain interruptions of inbound or outbound traffic as well as carriers, customs and forwarders. Confers with customers and other management team members to assure appropriate actions are taken to protect our customers
  • Responsible for the establishment and maintenance of a 12-month rolling forecast and active participation of the annual operative planning process (OPL) as a coordinated effort with controlling and executive management
  • Assure that all master data, upstream as well as downstream are up to date and accurate
  • Assures that all certification requirements such as NAFTA/AALA certificates for all customers are maintained as required
  • Participates in supply chain synergies meetings within tkNA and coordinates activities within the organization as directed from executive management
  • Lead the deployment, operational integration, and continuous optimization of Automated Guided Vehicles (AGVs) within the plant logistics flow.
  • Own and maintain the plant-level trade compliance framework, including sanctions screening, import/export controls, and country-of-origin determination.
  • Proactively monitor tariff developments (Sec122, Section 232, Section 301, USMCA) and assess financial impact; develop and implement mitigation strategies in alignment with tkNA customs, finance, sales and executive management.
  • Lead logistics readiness for the SAP S/4HANA migration and ongoing system integration. Accountable for logistics master data integrity (materials, vendors, storage locations, routes) within S/4HANA; coordinate with IT, controlling, and global project teams to ensure logistics processes are accurately mapped, tested, and adopted during and after go-live.

Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, a successful candidate will be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
  • Education: Preferred Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university in Supply Chain Management or equivalent field with over 5 years' experience in the automotive industry or similar industry.
  • Travel: Occasional travel, up to 10% including international
