Position Summary
The Logistics Manager owns the planning and execution of Flexcar's cross-market and intra-market vehicle shipments. This person is accountable for getting every vehicle from origin to destination on time and on budget, and for building and managing the carrier network that makes it happen. You will select carriers, monitor shipments end to end, partner with market operations teams to resolve exceptions, safeguard invoicing accuracy, and hold carriers accountable to clear performance standards. Success in this role means reliable on-time pickups and deliveries and a lower transportation cost per move.

Key Responsibilities
Shipment Planning & Carrier Selection
  • Plan and schedule cross-market and intra-market vehicle shipments to meet inventory and delivery timelines
  • Select the best carrier for each shipment by balancing price, on-time performance, and carrier availability
Shipment Execution & Monitoring
  • Monitor active shipments end to end to ensure vehicles are picked up and delivered on schedule
  • Proactively identify at-risk moves and intervene before they become delays
  • Maintain accurate, real-time shipment status and communicate updates to affected teams
Exception Management
  • Partner with market-level operations teams to triage and resolve shipment exceptions - delays, damage, missed pickups, and rescheduling
  • Drive root-cause resolution and close the loop so issues don't recur
  • Serve as the escalation point between carriers and the field
Invoicing & Billing Accuracy
  • Verify that carrier invoices match agreed rates and completed moves before approval
  • Reconcile billing discrepancies and prevent overcharges and duplicate charges
  • Maintain accurate shipment and cost records in company systems
Carrier Relationship & Performance Management
  • Own Flexcar's carrier relationships, from onboarding through ongoing management
  • Define and track carrier performance against on-time, cost, damage, and availability metrics
  • Conduct regular business reviews, hold carriers accountable to standards, and expand or reduce the network based on performance

What We're Looking For
  • A hard worker who takes ownership and follows through, especially when a shipment is at risk
  • Strong attention to detail - you catch the discrepancy in an invoice or a delivery window before it becomes a problem
  • Excellent communication and people skills, with the ability to build trust with carriers and partner smoothly across market operations teams
  • An analytical mindset and the willingness to build that muscle - comfortable working with numbers, spreadsheets, and data to make and defend decisions
  • Highly organized, able to juggle many moving shipments at once without losing track
  • Thrives in a fast-paced, multi-market environment and stays calm under pressure

Nice to Have
  • Experience in logistics, transportation, supply chain, or vehicle/auto-transport
  • Experience selecting, negotiating with, or managing third-party carriers or vendors
  • Familiarity with transportation management systems (TMS), load boards, or shipment-tracking tools
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, or equivalent hands-on experience

What tops off the Tank
  • Flexible PTO policy
  • 401(k) with company match from day one
  • Medical, dental, and vision coverage starting immediately
  • Employee discounts on Flexcar services with no annual membership fee
  • Weekly pay
