Duties

Help

This position is part of the Department of War (DoW), Missile Defense Agency (MDA). The incumbent will be responsible for assisting with the direction, development, and performance of logistics management operations that include planning, coordinating and evaluating the logistics actions required to support the Missile Defense Agency goals and mission.

As a Logistics Management Specialist at the NH-0346-3 broadband level some of your typical work assignments may include:

  • Assist with the direction, development, and performance of multi-functional logistics managementoperations that include planning, coordinating and evaluating the logistics actions required to support theMissile Defense Agency (MDA) goals and mission.
  • Identify the specific requirements for money, manpower, materiel, facilities, and services required to support the Program Manager's (PM) cost, schedule and performance objectives.
  • Correlate PM objectives with program plans to ensure required logistics support is provided at the right time and place.
  • Coordinate and evaluate logistics support to identify andexecute specific requirements, identify and mitigate risk, and develop and adjust plans and schedules for theactions required to meet each requirement on time.
  • Coordinate with higher level specialists to jointlyresearch and develop readiness and logistics plans, strategies, and procedures focusing on delivering a MDScapability that is effective, efficient, and supportable to meet operational requirements.

  • This is an acquisition position coded Foundational in Life Cycle Logistics. Incumbent must obtain mandatory Back-to-Basics (BtB) certification within 36 months of entry into position.
  • Incumbent must acquire 80 Continuous Learning Points every 24 months.


Qualifications

You may qualify at the NH-03 if you fulfill the following qualifications:

A. One year of specialized experience equivalent to the NH-02/GS-11 grade level in 3 of the 5 the Federal service:

  • Experience planning, coordinating and evaluating the logistics actions required to support Missile Defense Agency (MDA) goals and mission.
  • Experience applying logistics processes, policies, procedures and practices necessary to develop and assess technical and economic feasibility, including cost, schedule and performance.
  • Experience researching, planning, coordinating and briefing logistics actions in support of leadership's goals and vision.
  • Experience directing a contract workforce at remote locations managing, storing, and maintaining equipment and vehicles.
  • Experience identifying and applying concepts, policies and practices of logistics management as they apply to new and legacy systems during the acquisition and sustainment phases of the life cycle.


Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.

This position is subject to an initial drug screening, and random testing thereafter. A negative drug test result must be received by HR within 30 calendar days after the EOD (i.e., start date). The selectee's inability successfully pass; or refusal to conduct the test may result in: 1) the tentative or FJO being withdrawn during the recruitment process; or 2) subsequently being removed from Federal service for failure to meet a condition of employment.
