Job Description:

Job Summary:

The Logistics Engineer is responsible for supporting the design and implementation of all related logistics processes, machinery & equipment, storage concepts and parts shipments.  They will coordinate and provide continuous improvement for lithium-ion battery shipments, as well as battery powered machinery and parts in support of E+ES.

What You Will Do:

  • Order packaging and transportation solutions for new product introductions, battery shipments, and work on other supply chain improvements related to transportation and packaging.

  • Communicate with existing facilities on transportation issues related to receiving, warehousing, and/or line side delivery.

  • Handle battery recycling activities

Key duties can include:

  • Creating/updating transportation systems to ship batteries and non-hazardous equipment

  • Order packaging via purchase orders

  • Maintain packaging inventory levels

  • Utilize and navigate Mach 1

  • Generate process improvement ideas

  • Utilize NextGen/Guided Buy/Coupa

  • Shipment tracking and data entry

  • Freight charge analysis


What You Will Have:

  • A Bachelor’s degree is required

  • Problem Solving: Basic understanding and knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations.

  • Service Excellence: Basic understanding and knowledge of customer service concepts and techniques; ability to meet or exceed customer needs and expectations and provide excellent service in a direct or indirect manner.

What Will Set You Apart:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain or Industrial Engineering

  • Experience with TOCs, SAP, MACH1, and / or Coupa

  • Experience as a buyer, working within operations or with inventory management

Additional Information:

  • This role is in Morton, IL and requires 5-day a week on-site availability

  • Visa Sponsorship is not available for this role

  • Relocation is not available for this role

  • Travel is expected to be 10% or less


 

Summary Pay Range:

$89,210.00 - $133,810.00

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
