Job PurposeThe Regional Reliability Manager is responsible for ensuring the reliable performance of locomotive fleets across customers within a certain geographical region. The Regional Reliability Manager will work with the respective Service and Commercial teams in their region to understand customers' operational needs, track fleet performance, and identify and support reliability initiatives, among other duties. As a part of the Service Reliability team, the Regional Reliability Manager will work closely with the Service Reliability Project and Service Reliability Engineering teams to define, analyze, prioritize, and manage such reliability initiatives. The Regional Reliability Manager will be expected to provide regular updates and presentations to internal and external customers. This position interfaces with individuals from across the organization - namely Field Service, Warranty, Engineering, Sales, Supplier Quality, and Production/Production Quality - along with customer representatives. This position will be expected to travel, potentially internationally, as well as support customer and internal meetings in overlapping time zones.
Key Job Elements• Works with various rail line services to collect, understand, and analyze locomotive component/system performance;
• Generate, understand, and analyze locomotive fleet reliability metrics report-outs utilizing appropriate data sources;
• Act as the Voice of the Customer for the respective locomotive fleets in the assigned region;
• Support and develop regular fleet reliability discussions/presentations, both internal and external;
• Utilize internal and external tools such as IntelliTrain/Uptime, LTS, SAP, PowerBI and customers' systems;
• Coordinate and consult with a variety of departments, such as Design Engineering, Field Service, Supplier Quality, and Production to gather information to understand and analyze locomotive component/system failure data;
• Assist in and/or lead the identification, investigation and resolution of product reliability and performance issues;
• Provide information to and collaborate with Service Reliability Project and Service Reliability Engineering teams to support fleet and product improvement initiatives;
• Actively monitor and track performance of improvements after implementation;
• Review, approve, and deliver Service Documentation, such as Service Advisories, Maintenance Instructions, Troubleshooting guides, and Modification Instructions;
Qualifications and Experience• Understanding & resolving complex electrical and/or mechanical problems;
• Understanding of engineering theory and principles of design;
• Ability to read engineering drawings and sketches;
• Understanding of design / manufacturing process;
• High level of interpersonal skills required to work effectively with others;
• Strong verbal and written communication skills required in dealing with internal and external customers;
• Proficient with Microsoft Office software, particularly Excel;
• High level of analytical ability where problems are complex;
• Knowledge of fundamental statistics;
• Knowledge of fundamental data analytics and visualization;
• Basic locomotive knowledge;
• Passion for problem solving and continuous improvement;
• Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage and track multiple ongoing projects;
• Willingness to travel to support projects as needed.
Preferred Skills
• Experience with EMD locomotives;
• Knowledge of locomotive shop practices;
• Knowledge of locomotive database information;
• Functional knowledge of the railroad's locomotive tracking computer system;
• Six Sigma Green Belt or higher;
• Knowledge of Shainin Red X methodologies;
• Project management experience and/or training;
• Understanding of rail operations;
• Willing to travel on extended basis (domestic and international).

• Vision/Hearing Requirements - This position spends prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer and must be able to communicate effectively with internal and external customers;

• Emotional Demands - Required to liaise with multiple levels within the organization, including senior leaders and managers. Individual must be well-spoken, able to manage multiple priorities and individual requests daily;
