Full Job Description
The Opportunity:
The Loblaw Sales Director- Poultry, Private Label and Grocery is responsible for leading the development and execution of Maple Leaf Foods' strategy across an assigned customer portfolio. Working closely with the Vice President & General Manager, the role translates customer priorities into actionable business plans, builds strong customer relationships, and delivers financial commitments through disciplined commercial execution.

The Director provides ongoing leadership for the Customer Business Team, ensuring customer plans are executed with excellence across innovation, pricing, promotions, distribution, and customer engagement. Working across Sales, Marketing, Category, Revenue Growth Management, Finance, Supply Chain, and other cross-functional teams, the Director coordinates execution, removes barriers, and ensures customer commitments are delivered while identifying opportunities for continued growth.

Snapshot of a Day-in-the-Life:
Success in this role will be measured by the ability to deliver the business plan while strengthening customer partnerships, securing innovation and distribution opportunities, protecting existing business, and building a highly engaged team. Core accountabilities include;
  • Deliver Business Performance - Own the financial performance of the assigned customer portfolio through disciplined management of volume, profit, mix, pricing, trade investment, innovation, and forecast accuracy. Monitor business performance, identify risks and opportunities, and implement actions that deliver annual commitments.
  • Lead Customer Strategy Execution - Participate in the development of Customer Account Plan (CAP) and translate into actionable commercial plans that deliver profitable growth. Establish clear priorities, align execution plans, and ensure customer strategies are delivered through innovation, promotions, pricing, and distribution.
  • Lead Key Business Rhythms - Lead the day-to-day execution of the Customer Business Team's operating rhythms, including CAP, VOICE, Period Reviews, Vitals, annual budgeting, and Playbook readiness. Ensure the business operates with discipline, clear accountability, and timely follow-up.
  • Build Customer Relationships - Develop trusted relationships with key customer contacts. Lead customer planning, business reviews, negotiations, and issue resolution while strengthening Maple Leaf Foods' position as a valued business partner.
  • Lead Cross-Functional Execution - Set and provide direction to Sales, Marketing, Category, Revenue Growth Management, Finance, Supply Chain, and other functions to deliver customer commitments. Remove execution barriers, align priorities, and ensure customer initiatives are delivered successfully.
  • Develop a High-Performing Team - Ensure a culture of accountability, collaboration, customer first mindset, and finding solutions vs problems.Ensure key people rhythms are executed including PADs, development plans, succession plans, 1-in-90 reviews.
  • Travel locally and occasionally overnight to support customer engagement and business needs.

  • A strong grasp of data and analytics, using insights to drive decisions and plans (e.g., Nielsen, ROI, trade investment).
  • Ability to foster relationships across teams and functions to get things done and build alignment.
  • Deep customer focus, able to anticipate needs, deliver solutions, and build lasting partnerships.
