Job Summary:
THE JOBVenue Nation is seeking a technical leader to help transform how our Finance organization operates - from automating complex workflows to enabling smarter decision-making at scale. You will partner directly with Finance leadership and Accounting teams to identify high-impact opportunities, then design and build the AI-powered solutions that deliver on them, spanning financial reporting, close, reconciliation, and forecasting.
This is a builder-leader role: your code ships to production, and your technical judgment shapes how AI is applied across the finance function. Based within Venue Nation Analytics alongside our Data Science team, you will own solutions from discovery through production. Your work will span a growing portfolio of projects sponsored by the Division CFO. We are looking for a self-starter who brings structure to undefined problems - someone who can break down a business process as readily as they can architect an agent.
WHAT THIS ROLE WILL DOBuild and Ship- Design and build AI-powered solutions across the accounting lifecycle, from high-volume transactional work (invoice coding, cash application, account reconciliations, journal-entry support, and close-task coordination) to management reporting, forecasting, and decision support.
- Apply LLMs, RAG, and agentic workflows to real business problems, selecting the right approach for each use case.
- Stand up pilots in development environments to validate solutions with business users and partner with Data Services to deploy to production.
- Collaborate with the Data Science team to apply AI to forecasting and planning workflows, including variance detection and driver analysis.
Partner and Discover- Partner with Finance leadership and operational finance teams to understand how work is done today and decompose workflows to identify where AI can assist.
- Serve as a translator between finance and technical stakeholders, ensuring solutions reflect how the business actually works.
Build for Trust and Auditability- Develop evaluation frameworks that measure solution accuracy and reliability against defined thresholds, and produce the documentation needed to meet Finance governance and audit requirements.
- Design human-in-the-loop review workflows, exception handling, and confidence-based routing so that AI-enabled solutions earn trust incrementally.
- Ensure financial calculations are performed through deterministic, auditable logic rather than generative outputs.
Compound the Capability- Contribute reusable components, patterns, and best practices that accelerate AI delivery across the Analytics organization.
- Monitor deployed solutions for accuracy drift, performance, cost, and adoption, and iterate based on what you learn.
WHAT THIS PERSON WILL BRINGRequired- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
- 8+ years of professional engineering experience, including 3+ years designing and delivering production LLM-based applications and agentic workflows, with demonstrated technical leadership.
- Experience applying AI, machine learning, or advanced automation to finance or accounting processes.
- Solid understanding of finance and accounting concepts, including P&L structure, close and reporting processes, and how financial results relate to underlying transactional data.
- Full-stack development experience, with the ability to build and ship user-facing applications and review interfaces (e.g., React, Streamlit, or similar) without relying on a separate front-end team.
- Strong Python and SQL skills, with experience building against modern cloud data platforms.
- Demonstrated ability to operate independently in ambiguous environments - defining scope, prioritizing, and delivering outcomes without dedicated project management support.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to translate between technical and finance audiences and present clearly to senior leadership.
Preferred- Experience with Databricks (Apps, Unity Catalog, MLflow, Genie) or a comparable lakehouse platform.
- Experience integrating with ERP and Accounting systems of record.
- Background in a multi-unit operating business such as live entertainment, hospitality, or retail.
- Master's degree in a related field.

The expected compensation for this position is:
$152,000.00 USD - $190,000.00 USD
