Lockheed Martin Ventures (LMV) is seeking an energetic Portfolio Senior Manager to serve as a strategic bridge between Lockheed Martin and our portfolio companies.

What You Will Be Doing:

In this role, you will identify and execute opportunities for inorganic value creation. You will partner closely with internal technology and product teams, business area and functional stakeholders, and portfolio companies to shape roadmaps and investment plans, identify transition opportunities, and execute initiatives to integrate portfolio companies into the Lockheed Martin ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop stakeholder relationships by turning emerging technology trends into insights that shape internal roadmaps and ground due-diligence in expert analysis to support high-conviction investments.
  • Cultivate strategic partnerships with portfolio companies, align goals, and guide founders through the Lockheed Martin ecosystem to capture high-impact opportunities.
  • Execute a scalable engagement framework, systematically gather updates, track performance metrics, and produce concise narratives that surface trends, risks, and opportunities.
  • Manage the LMV R&D risk-reduction and integration pipeline, set objectives, define transition guidelines, triage business-area requests, and prioritize funding requests.
  • Partner with business-area stakeholders, board observers, and investment managers to synthesize company- and portfolio-level KPIs into recommendations that steer future investment and collaboration strategies.
  • Deliver timely communications and briefings to senior management, translating portfolio performance and strategic insights into decision-ready information.
  • Represent LMV in internal and external forums, advocate for portfolio interests, and expand the network of partners, customers, and collaborators.


Further Information About This Opportunity:

This role is partially remote, with preference for geographical alignment to a major Lockheed Martin Site and travel up to 25%. Eligibility for Secret (or higher) security clearance.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in engineering, computer science, or related discipline combined with 12+ years of relevant work experience
  • Self-starter with a generalist mindset, capable of balancing high-level strategic thinking with the operational discipline
  • Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally and build deep, trusted relationships with internal and external teams
  • Strong analytical expertise with proven ability to synthesize complex performance data and engagement findings into clear, insightful narratives for executive leaders inside and outside Lockheed Martin
  • Excellent communication and storytelling skills; adept at crafting concise, compelling messages and delivering presentations that drive alignment and informed decision making
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally, as needed
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret (or higher) security clearance


Desired Skills

  • MBA or advanced degree in engineering, computer science, or related discipline
  • Experience in evaluating early-stage deep tech by applying structured technical validation frameworks to low-TRL systems, accurately assessing viability and risks
  • Strong financial acumen and analytical skills, with demonstrated ability to interpret financial statements and understand venture capital performance metric
  • Active Secret clearance or higher


Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $205300.00 - $381300.00

  • Annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs may be offered depending on the position. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and can vary from year to year and are tied to a range of performance metrics.
  • For (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
