The Work
In this exciting role, you will have the opportunity to collaborate with industry-leading design professionals and contribute to groundbreaking projects. As an experienced professional, your responsibilities will include:
• The Maintenance Training Representative (MTR) will provide maintenance training on site at major US Navy home ports as required regarding the Maintenance of the SQQ89.
• MTRs provide training to Navy personnel on DDG/CG platforms, at local schoolhouses, and in shipyards. • They work collaboratively with and train Type Commanders (TYCOM), Destroyer Squadron (DESRON) Representatives and work with members In-Service Engineering Agent (ISEA), Regional Maintenance Center (RMC), and Aegis Community to ensure that a full understanding of system functionality across associated interfaces.
• This job will be based primarily out of San Diego, CA with routine trips to Manassas, VA for training on new system deliveries.
• Extensive travel will be required, both CONUS and OCONUS, in support of providing maintenance training to the Fleet.
• An initial 6 - 7 week training phase will occur in Manassas, VA prior to arriving at permanent duty station.
• The job will require both technical and operational acumen, and the ability to establish good relationships with members of a diverse team consisting of government, and other contractors.

This position will be working from Naval Station, San Diego, California. Up to 50% travel is expected.

Basic Qualifications

To excel in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and attributes:
• Enlisted Surface or Submarine experience
• Forward Deployed experience with APB15 or ACB15 and newer systems
• Maintenance Technician on ACB15/APB15 and newer systems
• Strong Critical Thinking Skills
• Sonar Supervisor Qualified (preferred, but other candidates will receive serious consideration based on experience)
• ESWS or SS Qualified (preferred, but other candidates will receive serious consideration based on experience)
• E-5 or above
• Must have or have the ability/willingness to obtain a passport. Must be willing/able to travel up to 50% as needed.

Desired Skills
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to lead and inspire teams of Sailors and communicate system issues to Engineers and Civilian Maintainers.
• An innovative mindset, capable of finding solutions to complex system challenges.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Experience with and a willingness to interface with Combat Systems Leadership Teams and conduct one on one classroom and shipboard traiing sessions with US Navy Sailors.
• Commitment to excellence, attention to detail, and a dedication to delivering high-quality results.
• Must be fluent in basic Microsoft Products such as Power Point, Outlook and Excel.
• Solid communications skills, good judgement and discretion and can work unaccompanied in Navy ports.
• Troubleshooting experience in high stress, high demand scenarios relative to getting and keeping US Navy ships in the fight

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $67400.00 - $125200.00

  • Annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs may be offered depending on the position. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and can vary from year to year and are tied to a range of performance metrics.
  • For (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
