Litigation Docketing Specialist

? Remote/Offsite | Washington, DC, Los Angeles, or San Francisco
A leading law firm is seeking an experienced Litigation Docketing Specialist to support litigation operations through rule-based docketing, calendaring, legal research, and e-filing. This role serves as a key resource for attorneys and litigation teams, ensuring compliance with state, federal, local, and agency court rules.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform litigation docketing and calculate court deadlines based on applicable rules and procedures
  • Research state, federal, local, and judge-specific court rules
  • Prepare and submit electronic filings in state, federal, appellate, and agency courts
  • Maintain litigation calendars and generate deadline reports
  • Support attorneys and legal teams with court filing and calendaring requirements
  • Coordinate with courts, vendors, and attorney service providers
Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of litigation docketing experience
  • 2+ years of e-filing experience
  • Strong knowledge of state and federal court rules and procedures
  • Experience with CM/ECF, PACER, CompuLaw Vision, SmartRules, Westlaw, and third-party filing vendors
  • Exceptional attention to detail and deadline-management skills
Location Requirements:
  • Washington, DC area (must reside in DC, Maryland, or Virginia)
  • Remote/offsite position with occasional in-office attendance based on business needs

Compensation: $90,000 - $100,000 annually, depending on location and experience.

Physical Requirements • Must be able to perform essential duties satisfactorily with reasonable accommodations • Work is generally performed sitting, talking, hearing, and typing • This is a high-volume screen-based role, requiring constant, prolonged computer usage, including but not limited to: reviewing documents, managing visual content, and attending virtual meetings • Visual acuity required for computer use, data analysis, and extended reading • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer • Frequent use of hands and fingers for typing and document handling • Occasional standing, walking, bending, and reaching • Ability to lift and carry items weighting up to 15 pounds
