Full Job Description
Purpose

The Litigation Attorney is responsible for handling creditor's rights, real estate, and title curative litigated matters for the Firm. This person will utilize legal knowledge and experience as necessary to facilitate the litigation process on behalf of our clients.

Specific Duties, Activities and Responsibilities
  • Must attend mediations, trials, and hearings, and other duties as assigned
  • Must be willing and able to travel on an as needed basis
  • Must be able to work well with all members of the group
  • Must be willing and able to write articles and make presentations to clients, trade associations, and ICLE
  • Must be willing and able to participate in marketing initiatives
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects and cases
  • Assist with other duties and special projects as needed


Job Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree with a Juris Doctorate from an ABA accredited law school
  • Minimum of two - four years of litigation/courtroom experience (creditor's rights/foreclosure experience a plus)
  • Member in good standing of the state Bar of Georgia
  • Must be proficient in performing legal research and writing
  • Must be proficient in taking & defending depositions
  • Must be proficient in drafting pleadings, briefs, affidavits, discovery, proposed orders, as well as correspondence, memoranda, and opinion letters
  • Proficiency with Westlaw
  • Must be well-versed in the rules of evidence, introducing evidence, and civil procedure in both state and federal court
